YOU CAN WORK SOLO, OR IN TEAMS OF MAXIMUM 4!!!!!

Start Time: February 2, 2024, 5:00 PM EST

End Time: February 4, 2024, 5:00PM EST

 

Failure to adhere to these times will result in disqualification!

Eligibility:

Any high school student currently attending a high school anywhere in the world is eligible to participate. If you are in your last year of elementary school, or first year of secondary school you are also eligible to participate. Age range is between 13-19.

You must have a high level of proficiency in English to take part, as all communication will be done through this language.  

To register, please join the hackathon through Devpost(On the ‘Overview’ tab, click the ‘Join hackathon’ button). You will receive instructions in your inbox to complete registration. 

We reserve the right to disqualify any project, for any reason whatsoever, at any time. Reasons may include plagiarism. 

Teams:

- Up to 4 participants are allowed per team

- You may only be part of one team

- Team members must meet the eligibility requirements

- If a team member violates any rules the whole team is penalized

Submission Requirements:

- Projects must be submitted for use within the allotted time

- You must share your source code if you choose to create a program, by linking your GitHub

 All participants must also submit a video, which will demo your project and answer the following questions:

  1. What inspired this project?

  2. What does your project do/accomplish?

  3. What are some challenges you faced?

 

You must work on the project during the hackathon period

  • Basic preparation and installation of IDEs, are allowed

  • Creating your project beforehand is not allowed

 You must only work with those in your party/team

  • No outside help

ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ORIGINAL, meaning no plagiarizing or writing by a non-team member  

  • If you are using a “builder” IDE, such as Wix, it is allowed but must be indicated in your video demo 

Using libraries and APIs is permitted, but must be disclosed in your submission

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION

Prizes:

Prizes are awarded per project, not by members. The top project will receive prizes and the project that was the most popular is chosen via votes. (Note if you receive a top 3 position and the most votes you will NOT receive both prizes.)

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection:

You will be judged on the following: 

  • Functionality 

  • Design

  • Creativity/Originality (NO PLAGIARISM)

  • How well your idea was communicated
