Closing Ceremony Postponed

We are very sorry for the delays. We received way more submissions than anticipated. We will have to change up the timing a bit. Many of the projects are absolutely outstanding and a lot of effort was put into them - so, in order to give them a proper judging, we think it would be best to extend the judging period to tomorrow rather than having our judges rush through the submissions in a short period of time. As such, the closing ceremony will be tomorrow evening rather than tonight.

Unfinished Projects Are Submittable!!!

Even if your project is unfinished, we HIGHLY recommend you submit it! We can't guarantee it'll win any categories, but participants who submit projects will still be able to receive free stuff listed under the "Submission Awards" section on our Devpost homepage.

Important Reminders

Make sure to thoroughly review the submission requirements and rules on Devpost before submitting.

The video you submit should be 1-3 minutes long. Making it shorter or longer could affect how your project is ranked.

In case you weren't already aware, you can submit your project to multiple optional categories if they are applicable.

All projects will be evaluated for Best Hack For Education, Public Choice, Most Launchable Hack.

Keep in mind that our general theme is education. Regardless of what categories you are aiming for, explaining how your hack relates to education will be helpful for you.

Personal laptops are preferred because they have fewer software restrictions, but if you must use a school device, read the following:

High School students in Edison should install an IDE (code editor), like Visual Studio Code, from Self Service on their MacBooks. It might be difficult to install them directly from their websites due to device restrictions.

Students using Chromebooks should familiarize themselves with https://replit.com, which is an in-browser IDE and code execution environment.

Devpost is not the only place participants are supposed to register! Regardless of whether you are attending in person, you must register via our Google Form as well in order to be eligible for prizes.

Many participants have registered on Devpost but forgotten to complete this step! It shouldn't take you longer than a minute or two.
