By participating in Hacklytics, Data Science @ GT (DSGT) events, or programs hosted by DSGT, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment where participants can learn, build, and innovate with data.
DSGT is Georgia Tech’s largest data-focused student organization. We host hands-on project programs, bootcamps, workshops, speaker events, and Hacklytics; our flagship data science hackathon. This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, organizers, mentors, volunteers, sponsors, speakers, and guests across all DSGT activities and platforms.
This Code accompanies, and does not replace, Georgia Tech policies and the Major League Hacking (MLH) Code of Conduct, which serve as foundational guidelines for all Hacklytics participants.
Expected Behavior
All participants are expected to help build a respectful, accessible, and productive community. Expected behavior includes:
- Show Respect for Others: Listen thoughtfully, communicate clearly, and challenge ideas without attacking people. Kindness makes discussion more productive.
- Act with Integrity: Be honest in your work, follow event rules, and represent yourself and your team truthfully. Innovation matters more than shortcuts.
- Foster a Supportive Environment: Hacklytics welcomes students of all skill levels and backgrounds. Make space for new voices, share knowledge when you can, and celebrate learning as much as winning.
- Collaborate: Teams succeed when individuals trust one another, divide responsibilities fairly, and help each other grow. Offering help and asking for it are both signs of strength.
- Encourage Curiosity: Ask questions, explore new tools, and get creative with data. Whether you’re building a model or learning your first line of code, a spirit of exploration drives great outcomes.
By following these principles, you help Hacklytics remain a space where everyone can thrive, build, and innovate responsibly.
