Rules
All participants of HACKMESA must follow the official rules set by LACCD and Los Angeles City College (LACC), as well as general hackathon best practices to ensure a respectful and safe environment:
π General Eligibility
You must be a current LACCD student (enrolled at any of the 9 colleges in the district).
You must be 18 years or older to participate due to district policies around overnight stays and liability.
π LACCD Policies
All participants are expected to abide by the LACCD Student Code of Conduct, which prohibits discrimination, harassment, academic dishonesty, and disruptive behavior.
Alcohol, drugs, and any form of harassment or abuse are strictly prohibited on site.
Participants must comply with all safety and health regulations set by the district, including any required ID checks or COVID-19 protocols (if applicable).
π LACC Campus Rules
All campus facility usage must be respected, including proper disposal of waste and care of furniture, equipment, and spaces used.
Overnight presence on campus is only allowed for registered participants and only within designated areas.
Any violation of campus rules may result in removal from the event and potential disciplinary action.
π€ Code of Conduct
We follow a strict zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment or discrimination. Be kind, respectful, and inclusive.
Collaboration is encouraged, but plagiarism or submitting previously built projects is not allowed.
All code must be written during the event, unless open-source libraries or previously prepared assets are declared.
