Event Rules
  1. Eligibility

    • Participants must be current BCIT students or alumni.
    • Teams can consist of up to 4 members (up to 5 if at least one member is a first-semester student).
  2. Code of Conduct

    • Follow the BCIT Code of Conduct at all times: BCIT Code of Conduct.
    • Be respectful to all participants, mentors, volunteers, and organizers.
    • No harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior will be tolerated.
  3. Safety

    • Follow all safety guidelines provided by event staff.
    • Report any safety concerns or incidents to event organizers immediately.
  4. Follow Organizer Instructions

    • Please listen to and follow instructions from event staff, mentors, and volunteers.
    • Failure to comply with staff instructions may result in removal from the event.
Project Rules
  1. Project Guidelines

    • Projects must be built during the event timeframe (March 13-15, 2026).
    • Projects must be submitted on Devpost by the Sunday 11:00 AM deadline.
    • Projects should not violate any laws, terms of service, or BCIT policies.
    • Plagiarism or academic misconduct will result in disqualification.
    • Projects must be appropriate for all audiences (no NSFW or offensive content).
  2. AI Usage

    • AI tools can be used for brainstorming, prototyping, and development.
    • Participants are responsible for ensuring that any AI-generated content complies with all event rules and guidelines.
    • AI-generated code must be reviewed and understood by the participant using it.
Discord Rules
  1. Follow Discord's Community Guidelines and Terms of Service

    • All standard Discord rules apply at all times.
  2. Respect Staff and Organizers

    • Please listen to and follow instructions from moderators, mentors, and event staff.
  3. English Only

    • This is an English-speaking server. Please communicate in English to the best of your ability.
  4. No Illegal, Unethical, or Academic Misconduct Content

    • Do not request or provide help with:
      • Illegal activities
      • Breaching terms of service
      • Violating BCIT's Academic Code of Conduct
      • Malicious or inappropriate projects
      • Graded coursework or exams
  5. No Spam or Unauthorized Promotion

    • This includes excessive messages, self-promotion, advertisements, or requests for paid work without approval.
  6. Stay On Topic

    • Please keep conversations relevant to the purpose and topic of each channel.
  7. Be Respectful

    • No slurs, harassment, hate speech, or offensive language of any kind.
  8. No NSFW or Inappropriate Content

    • This includes explicit, suggestive, or otherwise inappropriate material.
