January is Crime Stoppers month across Canada. This year’s theme is ‘Safe Streets, Strong Communities – Together We Can Stop Crime / Des rues sécuritaires, des communautés fortes — Ensemble, nous pouvons mettre fin à la criminalité ’

Crime Stoppers of Haldimand & Norfolk is proud to highlight the impact our community made through anonymous tips in 2025, as well as our cumulative results since the program began in 1988.

Crime Stoppers helps build safer neighbourhoods by fostering collaboration between the public, law enforcement, and local organizations. By working together, we empower every member of our community to play an active role in preventing and reporting crime.

Criminal activity takes many forms, including illicit goods, extortion and sexual exploitation, illegal drug production and trafficking, cybercrime, vehicle thefts, human trafficking, wildlife crimes, and property crimes. Working together, we can stop crime.

When you submit a tip to Crime Stoppers, you remain anonymous. You will never be asked to testify in court and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.

Crime Stoppers is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization. Our work is guided by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors who generously volunteer their time to help keep our communities safe.

In today’s challenging times, Crime Stoppers remains committed to education, awareness, and action, empowering Canadians to report suspicious or criminal activity safely and anonymously.

We extend our sincere thanks to the individuals and businesses who have supported Crime Stoppers of Haldimand & Norfolk for more than 37 years.

Our volunteer Board of Directors continues to plan community fundraising events, including:

  • Boston Pizza Simcoe Fundraiser Dinner – January 20, 2026
  • Protect Your Identity Shredding Days
  • Annual Golf Tournament – August 2026

Traffickers of Fentanyl and its derivatives continue to operate in our communities.  Their total disregard for those afflicted with addictions have caused deaths and overdoses in our communities.

These substances pose a hazard to first responders and law enforcement who come into direct contact with this drug.

Crime Stoppers of Haldimand and Norfolk is doing our part in the fight against these individuals who have no regard for human life and create this tragedy by trafficking Fentanyl and its derivatives.

Crime Stoppers of Haldimand and Norfolk is offering a $1000.00 reward for information that directly leads to the arrest of Fentanyl traffickers operating within the communities we serve.

We are also offering rewards from $500 up to $1000 for information that results in significant seizures of illicit Fentanyl or its derivatives by law enforcement within our service areas of Haldimand and Norfolk.

This reward offering will take place from May 1 to June 30, 2025.

Fentanyl is a terrible drug; we are not immune from it; it is not a ‘big city problem’; it is prevalent everywhere.  It has made and continues to make a significant adverse impact on our local communities.

Sam Fogg - Bursary WinnerCrime Stoppers of Haldimand and Norfolk is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2023 / 2024 Crime Stoppers’ William Robert Courtnage Community Service Bursary is Mr. Sam Fogg of Hagersville Secondary School.

Fogg will receive a $1000 bursary in recognition of the contributions that he has made in improving and developing the concept of Student Crime Stoppers in his school.

Pictured awarding the bursary is Keith Cooke, Vice Chairperson for Crime Stoppers of Haldimand and Norfolk and Sam Fogg.

“Our program takes pride in awarding this bursary to honor the contributions that the student Crime Stoppers program makes in their community.” said Pino D’Armiento, chairperson for the program. He added, “Having the youth involved with crime stoppers plays an important role in keeping them from embarking on a life of crime and recognize the importance of community involvement throughout their lives.”

The Student Crime Stoppers program operates under the umbrella of Crime Stoppers of Haldimand and Norfolk encourages students to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or helpsolvecrime.com with information about crime occurring in their school or community.  Students involved in the Student Crime Stoppers’ program help to promote the anonymous tips line and ensure that fellow classmates are aware that they have an option for getting involved.

Originally introduced in the 1999-2000 school year, this bursary was created by Crime Stoppers of Haldimand and Norfolk to both honour the late William Courtnage and assist students in the continuation of their studies. The late William Courtnage enjoyed an exemplary career of community service and he passed away in January of 1999 while still serving on the Crime Stoppers board of directors. Students from any of the 9 high schools in the program’s coverage area who participate in Student Crime Stoppers have an opportunity to qualify for the bursary each year.
