IdeaHack! wants to connect Tech and Business. We think that the combination of these 2 diciplines leads to synergies that enhance groups to come up with better ideas and a better implementation of them. 

The event is organized by the student club "BusinessMeetsTech" from WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management - a competitive business school based in Germany.

Eligibility

Every tech-  or business-student (older than 18 years) from Europe can take part in our Hackathon. 

You can sign in as an individual or as a team of maximum four members.

Requirements

GitHub Code:

  • You have to upload your product's code on GitHub and link your GitHub page in the Devpost Submission.

Deadline

  • Until Sunday 6pm CET (11.10.2020) you should've handed in your project on Devpost including links to both your code on Github as well as the link to your pitch video!

 

Video

  • Upload a Youtube video and publish a link on DevPost
  • Make sure that the video is not set on private
  • Your video shouldnt be longer than 3 minutes. Our Jury is only judging the first 3 minutes of your video
  • A product demo is not required but can be benefitial 


Publication of your Code

  • Please upload your code on GitHub and publish a link on DevPost as well - please make sure that your repository is accessible for us
  • Reviewing your code is part of our judging process


Assessment

Your projects will be judged in the week after the hackathon. Until the end of the week (16.10.2020, 6pm CEST), the jury choses their 3 favorite projects. Our entire pricing pool will be splittet between these projects according to their final placement.

 

Cross Submissions

Cross submissions are not allowed. You cannot submit a project to this hackathon which has also been submitted to other hackathons this weekend.

Judges

Judging Criteria

  • Design
    The design makes up 25% of the judging criteria. UI and UX will be evaluated equally. The solutions should have a user friendly and intuitive interface, making it easy to use for others.
  • Progress/Content
    Progress/Content will make up 50%. Problem Solving, degree of innovation, logic/ reasoning and the progress towards a working prototype are the main elements. Try to come up with solutions that are innovative and precisely tackle the problem!
  • Pitch
    The pitch will be 10% of the valuation. So put special emphasis on the unique value proposition (eg. ease of product, convincing solution), the comprehensibility and the presentation itself!
  • Creativity of Features
    Creativity of Features will be judged extra and make up 10% of the valuation. Feel free to come up with new ideas and think outside the box!
  • Personal preferences
    The personal preferences of the judges will make up the smallest part, 5%. Each of the judges is a specialist in a certain area and has a different background. Can you still convince them with your solution?
