About the challenge

Our team is looking for hard-working students in middle school to post-secondary to join our hybrid hackathon this year from August 25 to 27!

Requirements

What to Build and Submit

There is no particular theme for IgnitionHacks V.4. Build anything you like that solves a problem in the world whether that be an App, Website, Chrome Extension, Hardware, or anything your hearts desire!

Submissions will be via Devpost. Please submit a 2 minute long Youtube video link explaining your project, as well as a demo. 

Hacker requirements

- Teams must be groups of 1-4.
- You must be either a middle-school, high-school, or post-secondary student.

Judging Criteria

  • Design
    - Is there a consistency in design elements that creates a smooth and engaging user experience? - How intuitive and seamless is the interaction with the user interface? - How well does the design communicate the core message or function of the project?
  • Technicality
    - Does the solution deal with challenging technical problems? - How well does it integrate the technologies in the solution? Is it a high-quality prototype? - How well does the project adapt to different scenarios, including unexpected use cases?
  • Creativity
    - Is the idea unique? Or, does it solve a problem in a new or innovative way? - Does the project make creative use of existing technologies that are not readily apparent? - Does the project employ novel techniques or ideas that set it apart?
  • Viability
    - Could the solution be implemented in a real-world scenario? - How well-defined and realistic is the target market for the project? - Can the project scale in order to increase its reach and impact?
