The GenAI Hackathon by Impetus & AWS is your gateway to pioneering Generative AI solutions. Whether you're a developer, data scientist, AI enthusiast, or innovator, this hackathon is your chance to explore cutting-edge GenAI services, solve real-world challenges, and make an impact.

Participants will develop AI-driven solutions for key industry challenges using cloud and AI services. With mentorship, complimentary AWS credits, and a chance to win exciting prizes, this hackathon is designed to push the boundaries of GenAI innovation.

Why participate?

  • Showcase your AI skills on a global platform
  • Solve real-world problems using Generative AI (choose from the list below)
  • Get mentorship from industry experts
  • Win cash prizes and gain recognition on Impetus & AWS platforms

Tackle real-world GenAI challenges across industries. Choose from a predetermined set of use cases/challenges that you are required to implement/solve using GenAI -

    1. AI-driven live call insights - Build a GenAI solution to deliver real-time suggestions during live customer calls by converting speech to text and providing actionable insights from pre-trained data.
    2. Image generator: Synthesize and generate images  - Use AI models (such as diffusion models) to convert text or abstract inputs into high-quality, contextually accurate images.
    3. Supply chain optimization using TimeLLM - Design a TimeLLM-powered tool that predicts demand and optimizes inventory based on historical sales and market trends.
    4. Smart synthetic data generator - Build a domain-agnostic solution that intelligently generates synthetic datasets to enhance model training across healthcare, finance, retail, and more.
    5. Multi-agent governance system - Create an AI-powered governance framework to ensure compliance, data privacy, and ethical AI usage through dynamic policy enforcement and comprehensive auditing.

Requirements

Submission requirements for AWS CreditsWe’d like to share an important update regarding AWS credits. We have now closed AWS credits support, as we have fully allocated the available credits due to high demand after the technical architecture submissions. Congratulations to everyone who received credits!

For those who did not request or could not secure credits, we encourage you to review your technical architecture and proceed confidently with your final submission.

Don’t forget — a total of $13,000 in cash prizes is waiting for you!
Make sure to submit your final project before the deadline: July 10, 2025.

We can’t wait to see your innovative solutions come to life!

Submissions to the Hackathon must meet the following requirements:

What to Create:

Build a NEW GenAI application on the AWS Cloud Platform using technologies/ frameworks (like Streamlit, Gradio, React, Dash, Flask, FastAPI etc; Generative AI Cloud Services such as Amazon Bedrock, AWS Lambda, Amazon SageMaker AI, Amazon Q) in one of the below categories:

Please note - We do not have any restrictions on the dataset for any of the hackathon project categories. You are free to select a dataset of your choice, provided the solution includes the key features relevant to your chosen project category.

AI-Driven Live Call Insights - Develop a GenAI solution for real-time suggestions during live calls by converting speech to text and providing insights from pre-trained data

Image Generator - Synthesize & generate images - Develop an innovative solution using AI models (such as diffusion models) to transform textual or abstract inputs into high-quality, contextually relevant images. Key

Supply Chain Optimization Using Time LLM - Design a supply chain optimization tool using TimeLLM that can predict demand and optimize inventory levels. The solution should analyze historical sales data and market trends for efficient supply chain management.

Smart Data Synthetic Generator - In model training, insufficient data often hampers performance. To address this, develop a smart synthetic data generation solution to fill gaps in various datasets for efficient model training.

Multi-Agent Governance System - Create a Multi-Agent AI Governance System to ensure regulatory compliance, data privacy, and ethical AI usage through dynamic policy enforcement and comprehensive auditing.

Multi-Agent Governance System - Guidelines for Governance - Your AI governance solution should incorporate compliance with regulatory frameworks, such as FISMA Security Controls, GDPR Data Sensitivity Levels, EU AI Act Risk Categories, Digital Services Act, NIS2 Directive, ISO/IEC 42001, IEEE Ethics Guidelines etc.

What to Submit
  • Deploy and publish your project on the AWS platform (like AWS VM/Serverless service to deploy the GenAI Application). Include the URL of this published project in the solution deck/ReadME file (as part of code repository).

  • Include testing instructions for your solution(if any) in the ReadME file and solution deck so that the judges can test your application.

  • Include a text description that explains the features and functionality of your Project in ReadME file.

  • Share the URL of your project code repository (uploaded to a private repository) with read/write access granted to [email protected]  and [email protected]

  • Include a presentation (solution deck) of your project. Here is a template you may use: https://www.impetus.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/GenAI-Hackathon-Final-Submission-Project-name.pptx

  • Include an architecture diagram in the solution deck.

  • Include a demonstration video of your Project. The video portion of the Submission:

    • It should be around three (3) minutes. Judges are not required to watch beyond three minutes

    • It should include footage that shows the Project functioning on the device for which it was built

    • It must be uploaded to and made publicly visible on YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook Video, or Youku, and a link to the video must be provided on the submission form on the Hackathon Website, and it should also be mentioned in the solution deck.

    • Must not include third-party trademarks, or copyrighted music or other material unless the Entrant has permission to use such material.
