The registrations for the National Selections of IPT 2022 are open today. For the first time, IPT will be conducted in Columbia at Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) in Bucaramanga, Santander! This is, of course, dependent on the favourable circumstances because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The problem list for this year’s IPT is released here.

Due to the Pandemic. the Indian National Selections for IPT 2022 will be online. This details around this will be announced within this month.

We advise all the interested teams to be in touch with the Physics departments for financial support and logistics. In case your university is not open yet, we also kindly request to contact us so that we could provide assistance in participating in the selections.

Kindly note that National selections are also an opportunity to meet different peers around the country to meet and solve problems together, even if it is not entirely solved. We encourage collaborations from different teams and do ask for such opportunities which enable doing science together.

Announcement of National Selections for IPT 2021 https://india.iptnet.info/2020/09/25/announcement-of-national-selections-for-ipt-2021/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=announcement-of-national-selections-for-ipt-2021 Thu, 24 Sep 2020 22:51:57 +0000 https://india.iptnet.info/?p=389 The problem list for the IPT 2021 has been released here, and it is mostly expected to happen in Poland if the circumstances are in favour.

Given the Coronavirus Pandemic. the Indian National Selections for IPT 2021 will be conducted purely online. This details, of course, will be announced very soon.

There will be an announcement of a discord channel for all the IPT participants in India soon on the website. It would serve as a place for collaborating with other teams/students if possible as well as a quicker medium to answer your queries. Do stay tuned for this!

There are some responses from various teams with queries over the possibility of performing experiments during the lockdown. This is a very unfortunate scenario for which the best the teams can do is to ask for complete support from their institutions. Nevertheless, do contact us through the contact form (or with our email addresses) with your grievances so that we could reply back with any potential suggestions.

Problem Voting for IPT 2021 is now open! https://india.iptnet.info/2020/08/26/problemvoting-for-ipt-2021-is-now-open/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=problemvoting-for-ipt-2021-is-now-open Wed, 26 Aug 2020 12:34:33 +0000 https://india.iptnet.info/?p=376 Amidst the pandemic, the IOC has decided to open the votes for the upcoming IPT 2021, which (possibly) will happen at Poland (subject to change). Ones who have registered for the IPT newsletter may have gotten the email regarding this, but for the benefit of those who are new, I would enlist the important details here.

Usually, a country with a National Representative has 100 points which it can distribute it among these preselected problems as curated by the executive committee.

Interested voters must tabulate their 100 points to each corresponding problem number given from the problem list (link), following with no more than 20 points per problem and send it to this email address – india@iptnet.info.

All the votes collected from my side would be collated together and an average of all points against each problem would be taken as the final vote from India. More the people vote from a country, more valuable their votes get.

Do note, the deadline of the voting is 5th September 2020 (22:59 hours GMT) [Note the one hour buffer before the end of that day]. Also, you can refer to this google form for voting if you feel that the above process is a lot of hassle – https://forms.gle/6RYmejj67oKiVNat5

Cheers!

Team IISER Bhopal will be the next Indian Team to represent IPT 2020! A close call with team NISER with a lead of 3 points only makes the tournament a very close fight. Miranda House also did fairly well with a score of 106, something which is very good for a first-timer. (The maximum score achievable was 180 points).

We hope to see IISER Bhopal in the Internationals! Congratulations to all three teams for their participation and we hope to see all of them again for IPT 2021.

First Indian National Selection has commenced! https://india.iptnet.info/2020/01/18/first-indian-national-selection-has-commenced/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=first-indian-national-selection-has-commenced Sat, 18 Jan 2020 14:19:00 +0000 https://india.iptnet.info/?p=360 The Department of Physics of Shiv Nadar University has already commenced the first Indian National Selection among the three teams; IISER Bhopal, Miranda House (University of Delhi) and NISER Bhubaneshwar. The first two Physics Fights have been already conducted for today and the last one on tomorrow would decide the winner.

The jury from Shiv Nadar University, alongside with the organising team from the Physics Society.

Illustrious performances from each Team is the highlight of the event with some of the Physics fights with closer scores. All the teams are new to this tournament and have performed well in that regard.

As of now, team IISERB and team NISER are in a close call (90 v/s 89.33) respectively with a 0.66 point difference. Team Miranda House did significantly well, with an appreciable score of 68.67. The last fight will be an interesting one.

We are further pleased to identify the old participants of the IPT (Pranav Sateesh and Ajay Shanmuga Shaktivasan) to take a significant role in heading Physics Fights for a totally new audience. With that, we look forward to tomorrow to reveal who would be the Indian Team for the IPT 2020 representing in Poland.
