But to find that he was thinking of you? That he wasn’t terrible, really?” – This is fascinating to me. I don’t think Mikey thinking of Carmy makes him any less “terrible” at all. In my own experiences with a suicidal addict that made sure folks knew were the insurance papers were, them thinking of us as they end their lives is, um, not actually that comforting for us. It makes the decisions involved so much more deliberate and considered. Mikey planned that exit for *so long*.

The lenses of our personal experiences really change our views on that final ep. We all still end up with some variation on “Fuck you, Mikey,” though. 🤩

PS – I also hope that shit was just a fantasy.

Easily one of my favs of all time, too, even though I’ve only watched it two or three times.
