Judging Criteria

  • Innovation (15%)
    Being unique or novel compared to other similar solutions. Having the potential to disrupt an industry or create a new market.
  • Feasibility (10%)
    Addressing a specific challenge or opportunity and having a defined target market or demographic. Having a clear go-to-market strategy and revenue potential.
  • Completeness (10%)
    Successfully executing the project concept, implementing the main features/functionality, and creating a usable and well-designed product with a smooth experience. Effective collaboration, communication, and teamwork within the project.
  • Technical competence (20%)
    Adequate code quality, security, and scalability. Innovative and competent from a technical design and/or implementation standpoint. Use of the technology stack or platform, and for not being limited by the choice of technology.
  • Impact/usefulness (15%)
    Recognizing a specific challenge or opportunity which the hack can solve. Effectively addresses the recognized problem and has potential for impact and usefulness. Potential social or environmental impact.
  • Future Prospects (10%)
    Designing the product/service with scalability in mind. Having ideas for other useful features/functionality to be implemented in the future.
  • General Impressiveness (10%)
    Flexible criteria for judges to express how impressed they were with a particular hack.
  • Presentation (10%)
    Covering the problem, solution idea, objective, main functionalities of the hack, and other key content. Easy-to-follow, well-paced. Successful demo of the hack. Handling the Q&A session well.
