Investor Relations

IR Programs

The IRO develops and executes an investor relations program to effectively reach out to the company’s stakeholders and inform them of its programs and initiatives as well as update them on Exchange developments. The main functions of the IRO include:

  1. Overseeing the PSE’s annual shareholder meeting, analysts’ briefing and press conferences;
  2. Participating in roadshows and one-on-one meetings with existing PSE shareholders and potential investors;
  3. Attending to fund managers and analysts needs with respect to information on the company;
  4. Receiving and responding to PSE shareholder queries;
  5. Supervising the preparation and production of the PSE’s bi-monthly electronic magazine and its annual report; and
  6. Managing the content of the company website.

Aside from queries about the PSE as a listed company, the IR Office also receives queries from investors about market data, trading information as well as questions from potential investors on how to invest in the stock market. To ensure that all queries are attended to, the IR Office of the PSE has dedicated individuals who take the calls and respond to e-mails.

The PSE files its quarterly financial performance to the Securities and Exchange Commission within 45 days after the end of every quarter. The annual results of the PSE are released in mid-March with the SEC Form 17-A (Annual Report) filed no later than April 15 of every year. The IRO makes sure that such information is disclosed and a subsequent press statement is issued.

The IR Office takes the lead in conducting two analysts’ briefings every year – one in March to discuss the full year financial performance of the company and another in August for the first half briefing. A briefing usually features the President’s Report and the Treasurer’s Report. The President and select members of the PSE’s Management Committee are also on hand to answer questions from the analysts. Aside from analysts from local brokerage firms and asset management companies, analysts from overseas also join the briefing through remote conferencing facilities.
The PSE participates in non-deal roadshows. Given that it is both the operator of the country’s only stock exchange and is a listed company as well, the meetings provide an opportunity for investors to know more about the PSE as a company and the developments in the Philippine capital markets, including the initiatives of the PSE to make the stock market a more viable investment platform for investors.

The IRO also sits down with local and foreign fund managers and analysts for one-on-one meetings to discuss developments at the Exchange. Likewise, the IRO accommodates calls from investors.

The IR Office of the Exchange is in charge of developing the PSE’s annual report that is distributed to shareholders. PSE’s annual reports have been given the following recognition:

  • What’s Beyond the Numbers (2012): Merit Award, Philippine Quill Awards
  • All the Right Pieces (2013): Silver Award, Anvil Awards & Excellence Award, Philippine Quill Awards
  • Plans in Motion (2014): Gold Award, Anvil Awards
  • Ready for Bigger Milestones (2015): Silver Award, Anvil Awards
  • Meeting Challenges (2016): Merit Award, Quill Awards
Being at the forefront of improving governance and investor relations among all listed companies, the PSE incorporates in its listing rules the need for listed companies to have an investor relations program.

In addition, the PSE’s IR Office is also taking the lead in several activities to boost the IR practice in the Philippines. Among its initiatives include the holding of investor relations seminars for IROs of listed companies and distribution of IR-related materials to them.
The PSE utilizes social media to reach various stakeholders including current and potential investors and media entities. The PSE posts market updates such as the index level, select corporate disclosures, Exchange-issued press releases and announcements, market education initiatives like stock market seminar schedules and more on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Recorded materials of webinars are available on Youtube.
The Exchange has a bi-monthly electronic publication called PSE Bulletin which features developments and events at the Exchange. The latest issue is now available on the PSE IR Microsite.
