Steam release priced at $24.99; console releases due in summer 2026

Priced at $24.99, iRacing Arcade will serve as a fun, inexpensive entry point for gamers of all ages to fall in love with racing and become new fans of the sport. The heart of iRacing Arcade is an extensive career mode that sees players progress from the bottom levels of road racing up to premier vehicle classes like the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTP class and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Console releases planned for later in 2026

After an extremely successful Demo on Steam, iRacing Studios and Original Fire Games have made the decision to delay the full release, previously scheduled for December 2. The development team fully expects the game to be available on Steam within the next 90 days. Featuring an exciting new style of driving and art that is fun to pick up and play for gamers of all ages, the new title will be $24.99 on Steam at launch.

Having received incredible feedback from many of those who raced the Demo (over 100,000 downloads), the team plans to use the time for further playtesting and additional polish on gameplay and career mode.

“We will be taking the extra time to ensure the experience meets the quality you expect from an iRacing Studios title,” said Steve Myers, executive vice president, iRacing.com. “The feedback from the demo has been tremendous and we want to be sure we incorporate as much of what the players want into the full release. We are confident that the small delay will result in a much-improved gaming experience. We are not ready to announce the updated release date just yet, but will share as soon as we are confident. To celebrate the release, the iRacing Arcade logos will appear on the #85 JDC-Miller MotorSports Porsche 963 GTP competing at this weekend’s IMSA Motul Petit Le Mans with iRacing-to-reality driver Max Esterson behind the wheel.

The iRacing Arcade demo will give gamers their first look at the game’s fast, fun, and approachable style of driving. Take the wheel of the officially licensed Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car on Tsukuba Circuit for a quick race to get a feel for what you’ll see in the full game experience. Tire wear, fuel burn, and damage will all be active for a racing experience unlike any you’ve ever played before.

Esterson is one of the top iRacers in the world, having won numerous championships on the sim and serving as tutor for real-world racing legends like Scott Dixon and Richard Westbrook. He channeled his virtual success into the real world competing for the last two years in FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3,  with successes in the past including big wins in both the Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy, two of the biggest Formula Ford events in the world, before helping iRacing bring his Ray FF1600 into the sim. iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations and INDYCAR are pleased to announce a long-term licensing agreement for iRacing Studios to produce standalone INDYCAR titles for console and PC. As part of the agreement, iRacing Studios will release an INDYCAR title for PlayStation, Xbox and Steam in the second half of 2026. The new product will mark the first dedicated INDYCAR game in more than two decades.

“INDYCAR fans have long been clamoring for a standalone title for consoles, and we’re excited to give them what they’re looking for in 2026,” said Tony Gardner, president, iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations. “iRacing Studios’ standalone INDYCAR title will offer all the excitement of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and an immersive experience that fans of all ages can enjoy. iRacing and NASCAR have revealed that NASCAR 25 is launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 14, 2025, with PC via Steam to follow soon after.

NASCAR 25 is the first standalone NASCAR console title produced by iRacing, the developers behind the most authentic motorsport racing simulation in the world. iRacing is bringing decades of racing expertise to NASCAR 25, including developers who worked on fan-favorite NASCAR games like NASCAR Racing 2003, NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona, and entries from the NASCAR Thunder series.

Glenn McGee will make his return to the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin this weekend on the streets of St. Petersburg, joining JTR Motorsports Engineering in the #69 Mazda MX-5 for the doubleheader race weekend. Once again, McGee will carry the familiar iRacing logo and colors on the hood of his car and on his firesuit, as he makes his first start in the series since Watkins Glen in the summer of 2023.

“Racing is a brutally tough business, so I count myself very fortunate to have built a career in motorsports, all thanks to my membership on iRacing, developing myself, & winning in global competition on their platform; and to Mazda, who were crazy enough (at the time) to give an inexperienced, sim-racer a chance against professional drivers.   I’m honored and excited to get respawned for this one, back where it all started; racing in the streets of my home town, representing iRacing, in the death match that is Mazda Mx5 Cup series!  I’ve, been racing in Lamborghinis and GT3 cars in America & out in Europe, but the Mazda series is always the most fun for me.  I know we’ll all put on a good show for all the fans wanting to see some cut throat action on the streets of St Pete!”

McGee is one of iRacing’s first sim-to-reality success stories, and the MX-5 Cup was the platform that launched his pro racing career. In 2015, he landed a seat in the MX-5 Cup Shootout based on his iRacing efforts, winning that event to land a full-season drive in 2016. In 2022, he returned to the series after a six-year absence, immediately sweeping the poles at St. Petersburg and setting a new track record in the process.

The one-off return to MX-5 Cup action comes as McGee returns to Wayne Taylor Racing for another season of Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America competition. McGee now has two class titles to go with 12 race victories and two World Finals wins under his belt in the series, and he’ll pursue a third title this season alongside new teammate Graham Doyle.

Over 23,000 total drivers complete nearly 3 million laps of virtual Daytona in sim racing’s biggest event

For the first time in event history, the iRacing Daytona 24 powered by VCO saw more than 20,000 total drivers participate in the virtual version of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s premier event. When all was said and done, 23,397 drivers took turns behind the wheel at the virtual Daytona International Speedway—a 26% increase over last year—to complete more than 10 million miles of racing.

No event in sim racing boasts more participants or fanfare than the iRacing Daytona 24. The first round of the VCO Grand Slam mirrors IMSA’s season-opening event, with multiple classes of prototype and GT cars racing twice around the clock. iRacing’s matchmaking system takes the driver ratings of each team and creates dozens of concurrent matchups where every team runs against other sim racers of a similar skill level. This year, the iRacing Daytona 24 saw 5,633 teams (a 21% bump from the previous record, set last year) compete in nearly 100 race splits across four time slots.

The 2025 iRacing Daytona 24 powered by VCO was the first to feature an expanded 16-car grid, including the first time that iRacers could use the Ferrari 499P, Acura NSX GT3 EVO 22, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, Ford Mustang GT3, or McLaren 720S GT3 EVO in the event. The tens of thousands of drivers who competed came from backgrounds of all kinds, ranging from casual sim racers to four-time reigning Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen.

Munich. BMW M Motorsport and iRacing will launch a completely new type of cooperation in the 2025 virtual racing season: As “Official Safety Car Partner”, BMW M Motorsport will provide the lead car at some of the largest races on the realistic simulation platform. The car in use will be the BMW M2 CS Racing, which has been available free of charge for all iRacing users as an entry-level model since December. Sporting a special design and equipped with the characteristic Safety Car roof beam, the car will appear on track at many of the most popular Special Events.

As in real-world motor racing, a lead car will take the field around a formation lap at classic iRacing events such as the 24 Hours of Daytona (USA), the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (GER), or the “Petit Le Mans” at Road Atlanta (USA), before the participants launch their hunt for points with a “flying start”. The BMW M2 CS Racing is the youngest member of the BMW M Motorsport fleet on iRacing, while the BMW M2 Racing successor model is ready and waiting to hit the real racetrack for the 2026 season.

Together with Microsoft Research, our goal is to embark on a research-driven journey that will further the science and development of AI foundation models capable of performing complex tasks in physical and virtual environments.

The creation of these models, also referred to as Large Action Models (LAMs), can provide a foundation to power advanced functionality in the iRacing sim, including further improvements to AI-based drivers, AI-based coaching, crew chiefs, and many other possibilities. As Microsoft Research and iRacing intend to publish their findings, iRacing developers can learn from the leaders in this field and apply this knowledge directly to the iRacing product.

In focusing on LAMs, this collaboration will explore the creation of new data models that can improve the iRacing driving experience. The goal is to provide iRacing with models that developers can use to supplement the existing product with artificial intelligence-based training, giving iRacers on-track feedback, quality in-game improvements, and new ways of improving their performance and having fun on the virtual track.

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with Microsoft on new AI-based learning models which hopefully will lead to iRacers having even a better experience, not to mention improving their racecraft and performance,” said iRacing president Tony Gardner. “Our goal is to leverage the realism and quality of our existing product, build upon our market-leading existing single player opponent AI, and learn from the collaboration with Microsoft Research to create new and improved features that will benefit all iRacers.”

Development on the new game will be led by the Original Fire Games team, with iRacing supporting development and design by sharing experience and technology. The game will feature a more in-depth experience that includes a Career Mode and other diverse racing offerings in a package geared towards racers of all ages. Previous Original Fire Games products, including Circuit Superstars, will not be acquired by iRacing under the partnership.

The new product will be the latest under the iRacing publishing umbrella, which includes the core iRacing simulation product for PC; the World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing franchise, which has a follow-up to its critically acclaimed game releasing in September 2024; an all-new, highly anticipated NASCAR game releasing in 2025; and ExoCross, an exciting, futuristic off-road racing game scheduled to release in July 2024 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
