IrvineHacks is the largest collegiate hackathon in Orange County, and we continue expanding and improving our event every year. Our focus? – Enhance the community around us by giving students the platform to unleash their creativity in an environment of forward thinking individuals.

For IrvineHacks 2025, we plan to unite an even more diverse and talented group of developers to build the technology of tomorrow!

IrvineHacks 2025 will be 100% in-person during the day (not overnight) from January 24th through January 26th. Free workshops, socials, food, and swag will be provided!

Requirements

Submission must be linked with a git repository.

Certain prize categories require projects to adhere to additonal rules/requirements:

  • Projects for the Mellissa Sponsored Prize category must also include a video demo of your project which will be submitted through Devpost

Judging Criteria

  • Technology
    The hack is a full-bodied, seamless unison of technologies that utilizes a comprehensive full-stack without any major bugs that hinder the project.
  • Quality
    The hack is designed thoughtfully with regards to functionality and user experience, lessening the potential complexity of the system while allowing users of the project to fulfill its intended purpose.
  • Purpose
    The hack is a realistic solution to their chosen problem, and hackers are able to articulate and demonstrate how their solution can create a beneficial impact.
