Thanks, spammers!
2026-02-20 20:23I recently had a spam attack against one of my email addresses. Enough got through that I noticed it and made a filter, but by the time I did that Proton Mail had already identified them and started filtering to spam. That was amazing but not my point.
My point is that I learned that particular email address is so old that it almost only gets spam anyhow. I never would have noticed that, so thanks spammers!

Date: 2026-02-21 14:21 (UTC)It’s come a long way. I’ve worked in tech forever and have used Proton on and off for years.
When they first came to market it was email and VPN only and it stayed that way for a long time. I recently went back to check them out and now there’s a full set of tools like calendar and password manager and crypto wallet and drive and probably more.
I only use a few of those tools but it’s obvious they really sped up releasing stuff.
Their stuff is a little quirky because they have a security first attitude and it’s hard to perfectly mesh convenience and security, but they get it as close as anyone I’ve seen!
