The number of IUS Library items is constantly growing due to the process of acquiring new books, receiving gifts or donations, exchange and also IUS own publishing production.
Acquisition of the library items is organized in accordance to the needs of the study programs at the University.
Online Library Catalog is a register of bibliographic items in the IUS Library and it is available in a machine-readable form. A bibliographic item can be any information entity, e.g. books, computer files, graphics, cartographic materials, webpage links, etc.
The cataloging process started in March 2016 by using a new software equipped with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). This is the latest technology used in library theft detection systems. RFID-based systems are tracking systems that combine security with more efficient tracking of materials throughout the library, including easier and faster charge and discharge, inventorying, and material handling.
Until 2016, the Library items were processed and classified using a program developed by the IUS IT Center.
Access the catalog from everywhere and browse by an author's name, a title of publication, a keyword, etc.
Easy to check the availability of an item, loan period and its place on the shelf.
The IUS Library possesses more than 32,056 units: textbooks, dictionaries, reference books, handbooks and hardcover periodicals concerning every scientific field. IUS Library collections are constantly acquiring new and more recent editions.
