About Our Program

WSU LSAMP was previously an NSF-sponsored program in the Division of Academic Engagement and Student Achievement (DAESA) in the provost’s office. We are now Leadership in STEM Through Applied Mentoring Programs, and we aim to expand access for all students to complete science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors. Providing support to students throughout all years of their undergraduate program, we promote that STEM disciplines are fields that are welcoming and open to all students.

At its center in CUE 403 and beyond, WSU LSAMP hosts fun events that bring students together through food, friends, and activities. The chance to network and build friendships with other STEM students who share similar goals is valuable. And, these are students who share the challenges and opportunities that come with working toward a STEM degree.

Our Mission: Access to STEM Careers

We seek to increase the number of students interested in, academically qualified for, and matriculating into STEM-focused programs of graduate study, including doctorates. We host networking and social events, collaborate with partner programs, and welcome guest experts to present workshops on STEM and other topics relevant to students’ success.
