About Me

Hello! My name is Lucas Ventura and I am a PhD student in the IMAGINE computer vision team at Ecole des Ponts ParisTech (ENPC), and in the WILLOW team of Inria Paris. My PhD is co-supervised by Gül Varol (ENPC) and Cordelia Schmid (Inria). I just finished my internship at Adobe Research, with Fabian Caba and Bryan Russell.

Before starting my PhD, I graduated with a degree in Telecommunications Technologies and Services Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona. As part of an exchange program, I spent one semester at Purdue University in the United States.

During my Telecommunications Engineering master's, I worked with the Image Processing Group at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) under the supervision of Amanda Duarte and Xavier Giró. Additionally, I completed an internship at Telefónica Research, where I was supervised by Ferran Diego. For my final thesis, I collaborated with MIT and worked under the supervision of Antonio Torralba and Yunzhu Li.

My primary research interests include Deep Learning and Computer Vision, with a focus on Unsupervised Learning, Video Representation Learning, and multimodal learning. Outside of my academic pursuits, I am passionate about reading (mostly fantasy) and sports (swimming, kayaking, wakeboarding, football, handball, hiking, etc.).

If you'd like to get in touch, please don't hesitate to contact me.
