Hi! I'm a PhD candidate in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Maryland, College Park, advised by Kate Mooney and Naomi Feldman.

I am also a member of the Computational Linguistics and Information Processing (CLIP) lab and the Maryland Language Science Center.

Broadly speaking, I research the human capacity for language. Narrowly, I'm a phonologist primarily interested in consonant harmony. The kinds of questions that interest me most are:

I pursue these questions through a variety of methods, drawing on formal, behavioral, and computational approaches as needed. Lately, I juggle Optimality Theory, a formal model of grammar, and computational modeling using neural networks and self-supervised speech models (S3Ms).

The other members of my brilliant cohort are: Sarah Boukendour, Cassandra Caragine, Allison Dods, Sebastián Mancha, Sathvik Nair, Malhaar Shah, and Utku Turk .

My CV can be accessed here.
