]]>Combining professional camera outputs with the connectivity and processing power of iOS continues to deliver major benefits in image quality, speed, and efficiency. With Accsoon SeeMo support, Mavis users can now bring high-quality external camera feeds into their mobile setups further transforming their devices into fully featured monitoring, recording, camera-to-cloud and streaming hubs.
The new integration supports the full range of Accsoon SeeMo adapters, including HDMI, SDI, and 4K models, and works with both Lightning and USB-C devices. Once connected, users can select the external input directly within Mavis Camera or Mavis Monitor and begin working immediately.
By combining Accsoon’s compact hardware with Mavis’s advanced software, users can now choose a camera that best fits their production style, budget, and technical requirements while at the same time accessing the complete range of Mavis tools including advanced NDI integration, LUT support and audio mixing.
The built-in SD card support available on the Accsoon SeeMo 4K model also delivers significant practical benefits for mobile production. By recording directly to removable media, creators can avoid filling up valuable storage space on their device, ensuring they remain ready for extended shoots.
“Our goal has always been to give creators the freedom to build professional workflows around the devices they already own,” said Patrick Holroyd, Mavis CEO. “By adding native support for Accsoon SeeMo, we’re excited to be extending that vision even further.”
Mavis Camera and Mavis Monitor are free downloads available from the App Store. Accsoon SeeMo functionality is included as part of the free feature set.

]]>The post Latest version of Mavis Camera introduces Film Kit, bringing LUT workflows and Open Gate capture appeared first on Mavis.
]]>At the heart of Film Kit is a new color workflow; creators can now import custom .cube LUTs and choose whether to preview a look in the viewfinder (without affecting the recording) or burn the LUT into the deliverable. This same approach extends to HDMI inputs when using Atomos Ninja Phone, allowing Mavis Camera to preview, or capture, LUT-applied footage from a DSLR or mirrorless camera, as well as the iPhone’s internal camera.
For faster creative results, Film Kit also introduces a set of built-in filter LUTs, including Bleach Bypass, Bunny, Cinematic, IR, Monochrome, and Vintage, all designed to give shots a filmic character with minimal setup. When a production needs to move quickly from capture to delivery, these looks can be recorded and carried through into downstream workflows such as live streaming or NDI.
“With this latest version of Mavis Camera, we wanted to make cinematic decision-making feel effortless,” said Patrick Holroyd, CEO of Mavis. “Film Kit gives creators a practical way to monitor or capture the look they want, whether they’re shooting on an iPhone or a DSLR or mirrorless camera, without slowing down production.”
To help simplify color management further, Mavis Camera v7.4 introduces MLUTs (MavisLUTs) – a new format that can bundle multiple traditional LUTs and associated metadata into a single file. MLUTs are designed to help teams organise looks more easily, especially when working across different color spaces.
Film Kit also adds Open Gate capture, giving creators the freedom to reframe and deliver to different aspect ratios from a single take. Mavis Camera provides two Open Gate modes: one is designed for Apple Log workflows, and one for Rec.709 that can capture above 4K resolution on supported devices. Apple Log 2 is also now supported, reflecting the direction of Apple’s own pro capture workflows.
Beyond capture and color, v7.4 strengthens its cloud support with free ATOMOSphere Camera to Cloud integration, providing progressive uploading to the Atomos ecosystem for review, sharing, and collaboration.
A number of smaller refinements round out the release, including new white balance presets for faster setup, improved shutter-angle selection that snaps to common values (making standards like 180° easier to land reliably), refreshed translations (now fully supporting French, Spanish, Chinese, and German, as well as English), and a wide set of bug fixes and performance improvements.
The Mavis Camera app is a free download available from the App Store. Film Kit functionality (including LUTs, MLUTs and Open Gate) can be unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase of USD $9.99 (local conversions apply).

]]>Mavis Cloud Hub builds on the familiar ACS experience while expanding access to a broader range of Camera to Cloud and streaming destinations, including Amazon S3, Grass Valley Framelight X, Sony Ci and MediaSilo, along with continued support for legacy Frame.io connections. These Camera to Cloud destinations will be part of a newly branded subscription service called ‘Mavis C2C‘ which will be enabled for Atomos Connnect products and Mavis’ own Camera app. As part of the transition, Atomos Live Shows, Atomos RemoteView and Atomos Edit will be retired.
“We’re really pleased to bring existing ACS users onboard,” said Patrick Holroyd, CEO of Mavis. “Over time, we will position Mavis Cloud Hub as an enterprise and broadcast-grade Camera to Cloud workflow platform, and enabling Atomos devices and users to be part of that vision is very exciting.”
The migration is designed to be seamless, with no disruption expected for active Camera to Cloud or streaming workflows, and Atomos devices will continue to operate as normal throughout the transition.

]]>The integration with Atomos Ninja Phone connects Mavis Camera to professional DSLR and mirrorless cameras over HDMI, enabling creators to combine professional cameras with the built-in connectivity of iPhone. It’s the perfect camera-to-cloud package – recording hi-resolution video on the camera while the phone records and sends the proxy file.
The combo can also be used to stream directly to all popular social media platforms or, for professional live productions, to custom RTMP or SRT. The addition of external record trigger functionality means the phone can now be fully synchronised with the camera, a much-requested feature for professionals working in fast paced environments. This allows the recorder in the app to be triggered by the external camera to create a H.265 or H.264 file that can be used for social media or uploading to the cloud.
Certified NDI® support is another recent integration for Mavis Camera. Users can now easily send or receive NDI streams, leveraging the latest NDI 6 enhancements, including support for both high-quality full NDI and bandwidth-efficient NDI HX3, when receiving streams. Send options include broadcast-ready codecs such as H.264, HEVC, and HEVC 10-bit, ensuring excellent image quality with optimised network efficiency and extremely low latency. Mavis Camera doubles as an on-the-go NDI converter, bridging NDI with camera to cloud services such as Adobe Frame.io, Mavis C2C and streaming workflows such as YouTube, Twitch, RTMP and SRT.
“Seeing NDI implemented in Mavis is a clear sign of where the industry is heading,” said Roberto Musso, NDI Technical Director (aka Dr. NDI). “High-end video production is no longer tied to dedicated hardware, it’s now accessible on the devices we carry every day. This is not just about convenience; it’s about unlocking new creative workflows, anywhere.”
Mavis also announced a partnership with Grass Valley through the GV Media Alliance, adding direct integration with Framelight X. This allows Mavis Camera to progressively upload content into enterprise-grade broadcast infrastructure the moment capture begins. For newsrooms, production teams and live event broadcasters, this cuts time to air dramatically while maintaining compatibility with established GV workflows. When combined with either the internal phone camera, Ninja Phone or NDI, this turns the iPhone into a content enabler for all levels of broadcast and empowers creators to capture content from anywhere, with professional quality and cloud-native efficiency.
Alongside these integrations, Mavis is launching a new app: Mavis Monitor. Available on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, Mavis Monitor turns everyday Apple devices into broadcast-quality monitors with support for NDI and Atomos Ninja Phone input, SDR and HDR pipelines, advanced scopes and overlays.
“Mavis is no longer just an iPhone camera app – it’s a growing ecosystem,” said Patrick Holroyd, CEO of Mavis. “With Atomos, NDI, Grass Valley integrations now live, along with our previous integrations such as Adobe Frame.io, and now with the launch of Mavis Monitor, we’re building a truly connected toolset for creators and broadcasters. And this is just the start of something much bigger.”
From capture to monitoring to cloud, Mavis continues to expand its footprint in broadcast and professional video. At IBC, the company is positioning itself not simply as a mobile app developer, but as a key innovator in the future of production workflows.
Visitors to IBC can experience Mavis Camera and Mavis Monitor integration with NDI on the NDI stand (11.C39), Framelight X integration is being demonstrated on the Grass Valley stand (9.A01) and Atomos Ninja Phone integration is being showcased on the Atomos stand (9.C05).

]]>Mavis Camera App Supports NDI®
HX3 certified integration unlocks new creative workflows for iPhone and iPad
Brighton, UK – 27th August 2025: Mavis announces advanced integration of NDI® technology for its iPhone and iPad Camera app, significantly expanding capabilities for professional production, remote collaboration, and cloud workflows. This powerful new feature has been HX3 certified and enables broadcast-quality video streaming, enhanced monitoring, and flexible conversion between NDI streams and popular cloud-based services directly on a mobile device.
NDI (Network Device Interface) is widely recognised as the industry standard for IP-based video transmission, and with this integration, Mavis Camera becomes one of the most comprehensive mobile NDI solutions available. Users can now effortlessly send or receive NDI streams, leveraging the latest NDI 6 enhancements, including support for both high-quality Full NDI and bandwidth-efficient NDI HX3, when receiving streams. Send options include broadcast-ready codecs such as H.264, HEVC, and HEVC 10-bit, ensuring excellent image quality with optimised network efficiency and extremely low latency.
In addition to its comprehensive video capabilities, Mavis Camera can receive up to 8 channels of audio via NDI. Each channel can be individually recorded alongside both video and NDI timecode tracks, allowing precise control and flexibility for audio professionals and editors in post-production.
Uniquely, Mavis Camera also acts as a powerful on-the-go NDI converter, providing NDI video feeds for use with Adobe Frame.io, Mavis C2C, SRT, and RTMP workflows directly from an iOS device. This innovation provides greater flexibility, transforming an iPhone or iPad into a versatile tool for professional-grade production workflows.
The new version brings sophisticated multicast capabilities, with comprehensive group management, enabling multiple NDI streams within complex production environments.
Phil Watten, Mavis CTO, remarked: “Our integration of NDI represents a significant step forward for the technical possibilities of mobile video production. By harnessing the power of NDI directly on a mobile device, we empower creators, broadcasters, and production teams with unmatched flexibility.”
The recently-announced integration of Mavis Camera with Atomos’ Ninja Phone – a 10-bit video encoder that connects Mavis Camera with professional mirrorless cameras – significantly ups the potential image quality of NDI workflows, including full HDR support introduced with NDI 6.
The Mavis Camera app is a free download available from the App Store. Full NDI functionality can be unlocked with a one-time In-App Purchase of USD $29.99 (local conversions apply).

]]>Marrying the built-in connectivity of iPhone with a professional camera pays huge dividends in terms of image quality and productivity. It’s the perfect camera-to-cloud package – recording hi-resolution video on the camera while the phone records and sends the proxy file. Alternatively, the combo can be used to stream from any DSLR directly to all popular social media platforms or, for professional live productions, to custom RTMP or SRT.
This new integration also brings the much-requested external record trigger feature. This allows the recorder in the app to be triggered by the external camera to create a H.265 or H.264 file that can be used for social media or uploading to the cloud.
Mavis recently launched the groundbreaking v7 update of its Camera app, providing content creators with much more functionality over the standard stock iPhone camera. The app provides intuitive, ergonomic control of recording formats, frame rates, color balance and focus, with a wide range of expert monitoring tools, including focus peaking, false color, zebras, waveform and vectorscope. Full auto mode ensures accurate capture for rapid set-ups.
“With this latest update, Ninja Phone now works seamlessly with the Mavis Camera app, giving creators complete flexibility,” said Peter Barber, Atomos CEO. “You can record directly on your iPhone and use it as a high-quality monitor for your professional camera.”
“By extending compatibility to all iOS 18 devices, the Ninja Phone is no longer limited to the latest Pro models. Now older iPhones and iPads can be put to work as part of a professional workflow. Giving older gear a longer life is a win for sustainability too, which has always been part of Atomos’ philosophy,” he added.
Ninja Phone is a 10-bit video encoder from Atomos that provides an HDMI bridge between an iPhone or iPad and professional DSLR and mirrorless cameras. Combined with the Mavis app, it allows creators to choose the format that suits them best: ProRes, H.265 or H.264, depending on the capability of their device and whether they are recording or streaming.
“I am also thrilled that what is arguably one of the best iPhone camera apps is now compatible with every Ninja Phone out there, and that existing users can start using it today for free by simply downloading Mavis Camera from the App Store,” Peter concluded.
Mavis Camera also offers in-app purchases like Adobe Frame.io connectivity, advanced audio mixing including pan and gain, and multitrack ISO audio recording.
The Mavis Camera app is a free download available from the App Store. Ninja Phone is priced at USD $199 / EUR €199, excluding local sales taxes, and is available from Atomos resellers and the Atomos web store.

]]>Brighton, UK – 6th April 2025
Mavis announces v7 of its popular Camera app, a major update that brings improved ergonomics, camera to cloud with direct connection to Adobe Frame.io, live streaming to social media, advanced audio management and improved monitoring tools.
First launched for the iPhone 5s, the original Mavis Camera app provided monitoring tools for video professionals. Today’s iPhone is an entirely different and massively more powerful device, with higher-resolution cameras, a brilliant OLED screen for accurate monitoring, and state of the art connectivity. The new Mavis Camera app brings all of this to the surface with a beautifully designed iOS interface that feels natural to busy professionals and is available natively on the iPad for the first time.
Certified by Adobe, Mavis Camera connects directly to Frame.io for the fastest possible video production workflows. Content starts uploading while the camera is still shooting. With a stable internet connection, the process is so quick that you can publish fully packaged and branded content on air or to social media, within minutes of an event.
Mavis Camera gives professional content makers far more control over the iPhone’s camera than the default consumer interface. It provides control over recording formats, frame rates, color balance and focus, with visual tools to always ensure the correct settings. These include a wide range of expert monitoring tools, including focus peaking, false color, zebras, waveform and vectorscope. A full auto mode ensures accurate capture for rapid set-ups. Mavis was the first company to bring professional monitoring tools to the iPhone.
“Mavis Camera is a dramatically re-engineered new app designed to empower video makers into the next decade”, commented Patrick Holroyd, Mavis CEO. “We have focused on bringing the incredible power and connectivity of the iPhone to a new generation of cloud-based workflows, alongside our traditional filmmaking tools. We have always believed that the best camera is the one you have in your pocket. Now every iPhone user can film and share content like never before.”
The app’s user interface has been completely remodeled to reflect improvements in iPhone technology. Controls can be quickly assigned to the iPhone’s function button, and unique thumb rails, curved tracks that follow the natural motion of the user’s thumb for precise, comfortable operation, control exposure, focus, and white balance. Thumb rails can be configured for right or left-handed use and are consistent with Apple’s preference for apps to be capable of being operated with a single hand. Mavis Camera works equally well in landscape and portrait modes, with the UI reconfiguring immediately when switching orientation.
The app comes with comprehensive audio mixing and management. You can connect up to eight audio channels to your phone via a USB audio interface, or a microphone with a USB output. Accurate metering makes it easy to set the ideal level and both mixed audio and source stems can be recorded at the same time. Mavis Camera is part of the Mavis cloud platform and can also connect quickly and easily to pre-configured streaming destinations like Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram.
The basic Camera app runs on iPhone and iPad devices that support iOS 18 and is a free download. The Pro Pack, which includes direct connection to Frame.io, timecode support and the advanced audio mixer, is a one-off purchase of $14.99. Mavis Camera and the Pro Pack are both available now.
At NAB 2025 Mavis will also be launching Mavis C2C, another option for the Camera app that enables progressive uploading to Grass Valley Framelight X, Sony Ci Media, Amazon S3 and MediaSilo. Mavis C2C will be available for $14.99 per week, or $29.99 per month.
