Having positive male role models can have a lifelong impact on a child’s life.  Demonstrating qualities such as responsibility, integrity, and dedication whilst teaching the importance of compassion for others and themselves. By showcasing these qualities, great male role models can shape the lives of those around them positively. Being a kid who had an active lifestyle always wanted to play outside, I had developed a strong connection between me and my dad. We would play catch, shoot hoops, or even go on family bike rides around the neighbourhood. I remember at times I would make it difficult for him because I wanted to stay outside and play. We always enjoyed being active and bonding over sports. Dad would even teach me about yard work and life lessons about working hard and never giving up. Living a healthy and active lifestyle has kept my dad physically and mentally sharp which is what I want to provide for my children as they grow up. Here are some great tips that I recommend for having an active lifestyle with the family: 1. Move your body. 2. Stay hydrated and eat well. 3. Pick enjoyable activities. 4. Rest and recovery. 5. Set goals and be consistent. 6. And above all… involve family! There are great benefits to staying physically active. Improved health, increased energy, and increased longevity are just some of the benefits. The emotional benefits are also just as important. Lower stress levels, enhanced mood, improved mental clarity, and better self-esteem. All of this helps strengthen family bonds and promote a healthy lifestyle for all generations. The Benefits of Cold Compression Therapy for Athletes https://medfaclearningcentre.com/the-benefits-of-cold-compression-therapy-for-athletes/ Tue, 12 Dec 2023 12:08:00 +0000 https://medfaclearningcentre.com/?p=8251 As an athlete, your body goes through a lot of stress and strain, which can cause inflammation and pain. Cold compression therapy is a treatment that can help you recover faster from these injuries and get back to your training routine sooner.  Paralympic Athlete Suz Hext with the Cryo Pro What is cold compression therapy? Cold compression therapy involves the use of cold and compression to reduce inflammation and pain. The therapy is typically delivered through the use of ice packs, cold wraps, or other devices that combine cold and compression. The cold helps to reduce inflammation, while the compression helps to reduce swelling and promote healing. 1. Reduces inflammation and pain Cold compression therapy is an effective way to reduce inflammation and pain in the body. It works by constricting blood vessels, which reduces blood flow to the affected area and limits the amount of swelling that can occur. This can help to reduce pain and discomfort, making it easier for athletes to recover from injuries. 2. Speeds up recovery time When athletes use cold compression therapy, they can recover from injuries faster than if they were to use other forms of treatment. This is because the therapy helps to increase blood flow to the affected area, which can promote healing and reduce the amount of time it takes for the body to repair itself. 3. Prevents further injury In addition to promoting healing, cold compression therapy can also help to prevent further injury. By reducing inflammation and swelling, the therapy can help to stabilize the affected area and prevent additional damage from occurring. Love the @dr.aktiveofficial Cryo Pro. It massively helps me to stay on top of my shoulders. Especially my left one due to previous injuries and surgeries that side. Suz Hext Paralympic Athelete 4. Improves mobility Cold compression therapy can also help to improve mobility and range of motion. By reducing inflammation and pain, athletes can move more freely and with less discomfort, allowing them to resume their training routine sooner. 5. Non-invasive and drug-free One of the biggest benefits of cold compression therapy is that it is non-invasive and drug-free. Unlike other forms of treatment, such as surgery or medication, cold compression therapy does not require any incisions or the use of drugs, making it a safe and natural option for athletes.
