The innovation we are carrying out is from an position of privilege. We wanted to dedicate our prizes to those around the world who are carrying out true medical innovation. The med_hack Grand Prize is dedicated to the Shadow Healthcare Staff of Aleppo, who continue to provide medical care in underground hospitals despite the danger to their lives and the civil war atrocities in Syria.
