MindfulHacks was founded as Singapore's first Mental Health-themed Student Hackathon. It is a 24-hour overnight hackathon where attendees work to build a software project that addresses mental health issues. Our mission is to encourage students to come together and innovate solutions to mental health issues and combat the stigma of mental illness. We welcome students from Universities, Polytechnics, ITEs, and Junior Colleges.

Requirements

Problem Statement: Create a tool that will address a specific or multiple mental health issues in your community, whether you want to design and develop an app, create a data visualisation or anything else you can think of!

Inside your submission please provide:

- A public GitHub repository containing a README.md file with instructions on how to build, install, and use your project.

-A technical description of what your project is (functionality, purpose - if any, etc.)

-Please also attach a video demonstration of your project that includes all team members of up to 3 minutes in length.

Judging Criteria

  • 1. Originality
    Does it do something entirely novel, or at least take a fresh approach to an old problem?
  • 2. Execution
    Is the hack usable in its current state? Is the user experience smooth? Does everything appear to work? Is it well designed?
  • 3. Usefulness
    Is the hack practical? Is it something people would actually use? Does it fulfill a real need people have?
  • 4. Presentation
    How well was the project presented? Did it make the hack more compelling? Did it give a good idea of its purpose?
  • 5. Adherence to Theme
    Does the hack adhere to the event's theme of addressing mental health issues? Does it implement that theme fully or just partially?
