About the challenge
MY Hack 2025 is a 36-hour in-person hackathon where high school and college students across the DMV come together to build tech solutions that uplift the Muslim community. This year’s theme “From Al-Khwarizmi to AI” invites you to explore how Muslim innovators of the past can inspire the tools we build for today.
You’ll work in teams to create projects using AI, data science, design, web tools, and more to address real world issues like digital Islamophobia, community connection, and Islamic education. Whether you're coding a chatbot, building an interactive learning platform, or designing an AR app, your project should reflect creativity, purpose, and cultural awareness.
No matter your experience level, you’ll walk away with new skills, mentorship connections, and a chance to make meaningful impact through technology.
Get started
Form a team of 3–5 people and register by June 30, 2025. You can join with friends or meet new teammates during the Team Formation session.
The hackathon will run July 12–13 at the Islamic Center of Maryland in Gaithersburg, MD. Over 36 hours, you’ll brainstorm, build, and present your solution. You’ll have access to mentors, workshops, tools like Streamlit and OpenAI, and plenty of support.
Check out the challenge categories, get inspired by the legacy of Muslim scholars, and start thinking big. We’re here to help you build something meaningful. So, let’s code the legacy together.
