Welcome to the official NASCAR 25 Career Mode walkthrough! In this series, we’ll give you the inside line on making the most out of your NASCAR 25 career, working your way up from a start-up team in the ARCA Menards Series to the upper echelons of the NASCAR Cup Series.

This week, we’re taking you to the top level: the NASCAR Cup Series. This is what you’ve worked for throughout your time in Career Mode, and now’s your time to pursue the highest honors in the sport: the Cup Series title, a win in the Daytona 500, and as many trophies as you can take home along the way.

Welcome to the Big Show

Earning your way into the NASCAR Cup Series requires a Level 7 reputation, or 230,000 RP. As with your past promotions, your new Cup team will see an extra slot in your garage, bringing you to four cars now. And just like the previous series, you’ll start with all Level 1 equipment for the season-opening Daytona 500, while unlocking better parts as the season goes on.

By this point, you should have a strong grasp on the mechanics of Career Mode. Your Crew Chief and Mechanics will be responsible for working on your car, your Performance Manager and Engineers will be responsible for giving you access to the highest caliber parts, your Agent will find you the best sponsorship deals on the market, and your PR Manager will find you opportunities to add to your resources and reputation.

Check Your Calendar

The Cup Series has the longest schedule in NASCAR 25, with well over 30 races on the calendar. If you elect to back up your rookie Cup season with another year in the Xfinity Series to bank more money for upgrades, you’ll be in for nearly 70 races in all—so choose wisely if you decide to take on two series at once.

The Cup Series boasts the longest and largest playoff format as well. 16 drivers make the 10-race playoff through race wins and points performance in the regular season. The playoff field cuts down to 12 after three races, eight after six, and the Championship 4 after nine, setting the stage for one more showdown at Phoenix.

Just like the real-world NASCAR Cup Series, you’ll also see some additional races pop up on the schedule that won’t be run for normal points. At longer race lengths, the qualifying process for the season-opening Daytona 500 includes the Duel at Daytona, one of two shorter races that set the inside and outside rows for the race. Also included is the NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, which offers you a nice financial windfall of $1,000,000 to win.

Welcome to the official NASCAR 25 Career Mode walkthrough! In this series, we’ll give you the inside line on making the most out of your NASCAR 25 career, working your way up from a start-up team in the ARCA Menards Series to the upper echelons of the NASCAR Cup Series.

This week, we explore the NASCAR Xfinity Series, which builds on some of the fundamentals you’ve mastered at the lower levels and deepens the experience further with new types of employees.

Building Your Team 3.0

It’ll take you a Level 5 reputation, or 75,000 RP, to be eligible for the Xfinity Series. Much like your move from ARCA into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, you’ll be starting your new team from scratch for the new season, with new employees across the board.

In Xfinity, your car count increases to three. On the one hand, it means that each of your parts will last longer into the season before they wear out and you have to replace them. On the other, you’ll have to make some more strategic choices on when and how to repair your equipment, especially early on when your fleet of mechanics is smaller. With that said, you’ll be able to hire up to six of them eventually, which should give you more than enough Work Points to do anything you need.

Xfinity will be your longest season yet, with more than 30 rounds on the calendar. The good news is that means more opportunities than ever to win your way into the playoffs; the bad news is your competition will be stiffer than ever.

Engineering Evolution

When you go to manage your staff in the Office, you might notice two new roles as part of your vastly expanded operation: a Performance Manager, and Engineers. These new roles are vital to granting you access to the best parts in the series. Similar to how your Mechanics give you Work Points, your Engineers give you R&D Points, which are replenished on a weekly basis.

At the start of your time in Xfinity, you’ll only be able to work your way up to purchasing Level 5 parts. Once you’ve hired a Performance Manager and at least one Engineer (of a maximum of six), you’ll start noticing Level 6 parts and higher. Each of these parts won’t just cost money, they’ll also cost R&D Points, similar to how your repairs utilize your Work Points.

Previously, you might have skirted around having a bad race due to incomplete repairs on a part by buying a new one after completing work for the week and installing it then. That won’t necessarily work here. While you may have enough money to buy a higher-level part, if you don’t have the R&D Points available on a weekly basis, you won’t be able to get it until you do. (Like Work Points, they don’t carry over from week to week.) And it may take you quite some time to be able to even think about buying two or more of the higher-level parts on the same week. So manage your resources carefully!

Welcome to the official NASCAR 25 Career Mode walkthrough! In this series, we’ll give you the inside line on making the most out of your NASCAR 25 career, working your way up from a start-up team in the ARCA Menards Series to the upper echelons of the NASCAR Cup Series.

This week, we explore the NASCAR playoffs, which you’ll need to master across three of the four series in Career Mode.

We’re Talking About Playoffs?!

The ARCA Menards Series follows a straightforward championship model: score the most points across all races, and you’ll win the title. As a result, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will be your first encounter with the playoffs, and you’ll see them again in the Xfinity and Cup Series as you continue your journey.

As a rule of thumb, punching your ticket into the playoffs is pretty simple regardless of what NASCAR level you’re at. Win a race, and the odds are pretty good that you’ll be in—you’ll need to be pretty deep in the standings in a season with all sorts of different winners to miss out. Win two or more, and you’ll have one of the top seeds once the playoffs begin. Being the top point scorer at the regular season is also a great way to guarantee yourself a playoff berth, but chances are strong you’ll earn a win along the way if you pull that off. For everybody else, it’s about scoring points: if there are any remaining spots not taken up by race winners, the top scorers fill them.

Survive and Advance

In NASCAR 25, each playoff series features multiple elimination rounds. Again, moving on is simple: if you’re still playoff eligible, anytime you win a race in a given round, you’re guaranteed to move on to the next one. Otherwise, you’ll need to stay above the playoff cut line on points to keep advancing. One bad race at the wrong time can be the end of your championship chase!

Top seeded playoff drivers tend to have the best chance of moving on. Seeding is set during the regular season through playoff points, which are earned through race wins, (if turned on in Career Mode settings) stage wins, and a bonus given to the regular season champion. Because a minimum of four drivers move on from each round, and no round is longer than three races, somebody will move on through points no matter what. Giving yourself a strong points cushion in the playoffs through regular season success will make your pursuit a little easier in the late races.

In the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Xfinity Series, there are three playoff rounds; they start with 10 and 12 playoff drivers, respectively, before whittling down to eight and then four. The NASCAR Cup Series starts with 16 drivers and runs four playoff rounds that take the field down from 12, to eight, to four.

The Championship 4

For all series, the season ends at Phoenix Raceway with a single race to determine the champion. If you’re still working your way to the Cup Series, these final rounds can be the difference between earning enough Reputation Points to move onto the next series and sticking it out another year.

If you’re lucky enough to be one of the Championship 4 eligible for the title, the goal is simple. You’re racing the other three drivers straight up, and you need to finish ahead of all of them. Even if you don’t have a race-winning car, you’ll have a chance to take home the championship. Need some help monitoring the opposition? You can pull up the running order on your HUD throughout the race, and you’ll see your playoff opponents’ names in yellow instead of the usual white.

Welcome to the official NASCAR 25 Career Mode walkthrough! In this series, we’ll give you the inside line on making the most out of your NASCAR 25 career, working your way up from a start-up team in the ARCA Menards Series to the upper echelons of the NASCAR Cup Series.

This week, we explore the next step in your career after you conquer ARCA: the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. This step on the ladder introduces some exciting new challenges to your team management.

Reaching a Milestone

When you surpass certain Reputation milestones, a new series will unlock for the following season. Your Agent will inform you that a new sponsor is waiting for you next year—to advance, you’ll need to wrap up the current campaign. Stockpile as much money and all the extra RP you can to get a jump start on the new season! (Note that if your Reputation Points pass the threshold through actions between races, such as a Turning Point or PR opportunity, you’ll have to complete the next race for the new series unlock to register.)

After the season ends, you’ll see a recap of your stats and winnings, and if you’ve earned the chance to move up, this is when you’ll set up your new team. Before you start the next season, you’ll be able to choose which series you intend to race—you can choose any of your previously unlocked series, or to just focus on the highest ranked one. Running two series at once is a great way to boost your Reputation faster, but your choices will lock in until the next offseason, so there’s no bailing out of the commitment.

Next-Level Management

A new series means a new shop and a new Crew Chief and Agent, and additional new PR Manager and Mechanic hires down the road. It also means some new managerial challenges. In the Truck Series, you’ll be managing two vehicles—one that goes to the track, and one that undergoes work so it can run the following race.

With multiple vehicles to manage in the Truck Series, your Work Points distribution strategy may need to change. If you rely on your Crew Chief to pick the work, they will give you the option to focus work on this week’s entry, the most damaged vehicle, or balance things evenly between both. You can still assign work yourself as well.

At the Truck Series level, parts go up to Level 6, and Rebuilds are also introduced. A Rebuild restores your parts to the beginning of their life, saving you money on needing to replace Worn parts. However, Rebuilds come at a larger Work Points cost that may be prohibitive to more routine repairs on other parts.

Having two trucks also means, for those who like extra customization, another slot in the Paint Kit. You may want to create subtle visual differences between your two trucks so you can better keep track of which is which.

Pulling Double Duty

If you’re running two (or more) series at once, you may encounter weekends where they run together. On double duty weekends, you’ll head to the track with both of them and take on their sessions in order, just like a real driver pulling double duty would. Likewise, your post race recaps will include all of the series that ran on any given week on screen together. Weekends where only one series runs will function much like they did during your first ARCA season; you’ll only manage one set of tasks.

The financial advantage to running multiple series at once is, if your equipment is in great shape in one, you can use your winnings to subsidize the other. However, you won’t be able to unlock top tier parts right away in any new series, and you’ll also need to choose which vehicle gets any new part you buy if you choose to install right away.

Want to size up your top competition in the new series? Head over to Standings in the Race Shop and toggle between seasons. You’ll be able to see how everyone raced in Trucks while you were competing in ARCA and find out who the defending champion is.

Compete in online multiplayer and experience a robust Career Mode with guidance from the legendary Dale Earnhardt Jr. featuring all four premier NASCAR series – the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Craftsman Truck Series, and, appearing among the NASCAR series in a standalone title for the first time, the ARCA Menards Series.

NASCAR 25 will also release its newest DLC pack on November 14 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Free for Season Pass owners and available as a standalone purchase for $14.99, the NASCAR 25 November Pack includes 36 Darlington Throwback schemes across the top 3 NASCAR National Series, including William Byron, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Austin Cindric, and many more! Welcome to the official NASCAR 25 Career Mode walkthrough! In this series, we’ll give you the inside line on making the most out of your NASCAR 25 career, working your way up from a start-up team in the ARCA Menards Series to the upper echelons of the NASCAR Cup Series.

This week, we’re focusing on Turning Points—events that may reshape your Career Mode experience out of nowhere, for better or worse.

Breaking News

When a Turning Point occurs, you’ll be prompted to watch an all-new episode of the Dale Jr. Download, featuring Dale Earnhardt Jr. and TJ Majors. Dale and TJ will discuss the biggest news in NASCAR and add their unique insight on the event.

Sometimes, a Turning Point will be fantastic for your career, such as a cameo role in a movie that boosts your Reputation Points. Other times, it’ll have a direct negative impact on your race prep, like an illness that affects your crew members and cuts your Work Points for the week, forcing you to strategize around them.

Much like real-world lucky and unlucky breaks, Turning Points can occur at any time during your career. As a result, no two playthroughs of NASCAR 25’s Career Mode are alike.
