This initiative brings together direct action, political education, and material aid to support the Cuban people in the face of the ongoing U.S. blockade. In the tradition of Rev. Lucius Walker and IFCO/Pastors for Peace, a multi-week car caravan will collect and transport urgently needed medical supplies from across the country. The caravan will conclude in Florida, where the aid will be shipped by charter plane to Cuba. Along the way, events and rallies will deepen political education and build momentum for continued solidarity, including travel to Cuba and long-term organizing.
The Saving Lives Campaign and Global Health Partners have launched a joint campaign to raise funds for 60,000+ surgical sutures to be delivered to Cuba by February 2026.
Cuba is renowned for its healthcare system and medical innovation. Yet after 60+ years of the U.S. blockade, even basics like sutures are hard to come by. Suppliers cancel contracts.
