"Will my friend be there today?"

That's the question Mark asks himself every week before coming to Nova Ukraine's after-school learning center, Змістовно, in Kharkiv.

Mark is 9 years old.

When the war began, his family had to leave their home and move in with his grandfather. Today, Zmistovno is where he learns English, music, reading, math, and 3D design.

What do firefighters protecting Ukraine’s railways need now? Protective gear, durable footwear, emergency medical relief, hydraulic rescue tools, fire hoses, and other vital equipment that help them respond safely when strikes threaten the rail stations relied upon by millions daily.

Nova Ukraine helped deliver another shipment of essential equipment to firefighters serving Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine’s national railway, working alongside the Ukrainian FireFighters Foundation and Swedish rescuers Andreas Greman and Pierre Sannemo.

The shipment included over 200 sets of protective clothing and footwear, 60 emergency medical kits, hydraulic rescue tools, fire hoses, and 150 pairs of boots, and other critical gear. With the right equipment, firefighters are better prepared to respond when the next emergency arises.

Women are making history for Ukraine! In the U.S., at least seven major organizations dedicated to a peaceful and prosperous Ukraine are led by women.

We asked the extraordinary women who lead these groups: “If you could give one piece of advice to young women who want to make a real difference in the world, what would it be?”

Nova Ukraine CEO Ambassador Erin E. McKee said, “Know that your voice, your urgency, your refusal to accept what is — these are not liabilities. They are precisely what leadership demands. Especially now, when the stakes are this high.”

A UN investigation this week found that Russia’s abduction and forcible transfer of 20,000 Ukrainian children since the full-scale invasion constitutes “crimes against humanity and war crimes.”
In October, Wisconsin was the first state to pass a historic joint resolution condemning these atrocities. Soon, the Vermont legislature is likely to be the second to denounce the barbaric deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children.

Amid reports that the U.S. is considering lifting or easing sanctions on Russian oil, Nova Ukraine agrees it would make Russia’s war against Ukraine “continue for far longer,” as Razom for Ukraine’s Director of Advocacy Mykola Murskyj said.

As Americans, now is the time to speak up and let your Members of Congress know that sanctions on Russia’s oil industry save lives. Russia is using that oil revenue not just to buy weapons for its daily attacks on Ukrainian civilians, but to actively help Iran target American service members and facilities in the Middle East.

Tell your Congressional representatives not to refill the Kremlin’s war chest by adding your name to this petition by our colleagues at Razom for Ukraine: razomforukraine.quorum.us/campaign/Oil

Join us for the opening screening of the Ukrainian Spring Film Marathon at C Ukraine Cultural Showcase and Pop-Up Store by Code 380 in downtown San Francisco this Saturday!

Save your seat for the "Second Wind" documentary at eventbrite.com/e/ukrainian-spring-film-marathon-second-wind-nova-ukraine-tickets-1984310052784 🎟️

From the frontlines of Ukraine to the roof of Africa. A film about five Ukrainian veterans who redefined what's possible.

What happens when defenders who've given everything — limbs, certainty, youth — decide they still have something left to prove?

Second Wind follows four amputee soldiers and a severely wounded female sniper as they attempt to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. The film documents the raw, inner transformations: overcoming pain, rethinking the trauma of war, and finding power in brotherhood.

💙 Film is a "work in progress" and does not represent it as a final version.
