About the challenge

Open Source Quest (OSQ) 2026 is a month-long, mentor-guided open-source contribution program organized by R3ACTR Innovations.

Unlike traditional hackathons, OSQ focuses on real-world open-source contribution. Participants work on real GitHub repositories, follow professional workflows, and collaborate with mentors and peers to make meaningful improvements.

The program emphasizes:

  • Real repositories (not mock projects)

  • Industry-standard GitHub workflows

  • Quality, consistency, and collaboration
