About the challenge

time for a true display of skill, anon.

it happened in the Arena, IRL. lots of them do. you don't live there, couldn't make it, or you were there -- and you're back for more. we brought it to you online.

your turn. make it count.

see you in the ring.

Get started

join the discord, it's where everything's gonna happen:

https://arena.x-ware.online

the gear:

https://fireworks.ai -- specifically, this guy: Firefunction v1. Just like the OAI function calls you know and love, but lightning quick. and all yours. grab a checkpoint (or the weights!) and see what you can do with it. hosted ver hits 200tkn/sec, they've got JSON & grammar modes available too. docs are here.

https://llamaindex.ai -- unofficial sponsor (couldn't get ahold of jerry, lol), but if you want rag and you want local, hard to argue with these guys. 0.10 is the latest release, and it's a banger. temporary package registration area & migration guide.

---

online edition specials:

https://www.agentops.ai/ -- you saw 'em last time, they're back again. couple lines of code and you get full viz on your agent runs, set success/fail states, @record_action is a decorator now. lots you can do here.

https://communeai.org -- our resident web3 sponsors, & they need a hand with things -- see their bounty for more information. it's a little tough to grok right now, but it's a lot like the llamaindex namespaced package registration. except it's for anything. get these boys some docs & try it out. if you're good with Rust or Substrate, you'll have a big leg up here.

https://bazed.ai -- new kids on the block. agent swarms, type-safe enough not to miss, abstracted enough to deploy in a couple lines of code. fun fact, bazed is the result of taking the case-specific stuff out of their other project (https://monk.io), giving it a little spit-shine and open-sourcing the whole thing. kudos, guys. all typescript, for my web ppl (agentops has a typescript sdk too, hint hint.)

https://agentartificial.com -- back once again, bespoke tooling for your agents is their main gig. turns out that leaves you with a whole mess of endpoints to do fun stuff with. the api keys on offer for their prize are gonna be insane value, gun for it if you build agents on the regular.

more to come, hopefully.

Requirements

What to Build

Whatever you think will hit those prize conditions or impress the sponsors. Judging panel will provide feedback on projects to the sponsors, but end of the day, they brought the prize, they get to award it. Consider yourself notified about possible biases. ;)

What to Submit

code -- open source your thing, please. not a hard requirement, but see above notice about being biased. ;)

also, submit a loom or smth, max 90 seconds. just show us how your thing works, prove that it does. if you can fit your business plan in there, do it. we like those.

ideally, a link to your demo we can play with.

Prizes

$2,000 in prizes
100 $COMAI - Best fix/PR/use of Commune
Cryptocurrency logo
1 winner

They could use a hand over there -- if you can get it working and do something cool with it, 100 $COMAI could be yours. But if you can just get it working and fix one of the things that's not quite there, that counts too :)

$200 Fireworks.ai platform credits - best use of Function Calling
1 winner

Best use of Function Calling, per the fireworks rep. One of the two instances of this will probably go to the most bangerest use of firefunction, but i think they're cool with function calls in general.

$200 Fireworks.ai platform credits - best overall usage of Fireworks
1 winner

Best usage of fireworks overall is their second prize slot

100 $COMAI - Best documentation tool for Commune
1 winner

The docs are a little bit messy -- can you fix 'em? Manually still qualifies, but ideally you do some cool AI stuff to make it easier for everybody.

$300 Bazed.ai platform credits -- best Agent
1 winner

Best overall Agent; Easy double-up here, use the bazed AF (lel) to hit another sponsor's condition using their Agent Framework. Doesn't have to be that specifically, of course, but just to get you thinkin' about stuff to do (& clue you in on what they're thinking cool stuff to do is :3).

Anarki's favorite search-optimized deliverable
Cryptocurrency logo
1 winner

paid in dogecoin --

our resident "not even grey-hat i don't do that anymore, all seo is grey hat" guy, Anarki, has graciously volunteered to sponsor a selection of structured and unstructured data crawling and acquisition API's. He's pretty sure you can do something super cool with it -- his wheelhouse is SEO content & how to rank (& he's running a little workshop on it, too), so he thinks he wants to see a little smarty-pants llm (his words) produce content that "deserves to rank at the top of google," broadly or within a specific niche/application...but if you've got a better idea in mind, go nuts.

THE KIT:
(tbd, were working on getting you credits, but it'll involve interpreting google search results as structured data and give you the ability to pull the HTML of those pages.)

Agent Artificial Skeleton Key
1 winner

Priceless. Our main man Bako makes a habit of putting up dope ass endpoints on a regular basis, & you get keys to the lot that work outside of events. Eventually there'll probably be a payments/credit system, but for now it's True or False.

Win condition? Coolest thing, according to Bako & Razor. This man cranks out code like a fish breathes water & Razor's pocket devops that keeps it all afloat, up to you on how to impress on this one.

$300 platform credits - Best Bazed.ai PR
1 winner

As I mentioned, new kids on the block, so there might be some rough edges -- that's where you come in. Come up with a cool example, fix some bugs, update some docs, the ole' Open Source Special, you know the drill. There's some credits in it for the best one.
