Founded in the fall of 2009, PennApps was the nation's first student-run college hackathon. Since then, it has spurred a revolution in the way engineering students develop and showcase their skills, spawning an entire "league" of hackathons across the nation. In the past years, over a thousand students from the U.S. and other countries like Switzerland, Canada, England, India, and Singapore have converged in Philadelphia for a weekend of creation and discovery. Both beginners and experts alike will work together, learning and competing to become better engineers. This year, PennApps is expanding its focus on learning by emphasizing the collaboration of new and experienced hackers and providing more learning opportunities and workshops throughout the weekend. Join hundreds of students for an unforgettable weekend of coding, creativity, and collaboration at our innovation terminal.

Judging Criteria
-
Technology
How technically impressive was the hack? Was the technical problem the team tackled difficult? Did it use a particularly clever technique or did it use many different components? Did the technology involved make you go "Wow"? -
Design
Did the team put thought into the user experience? How well designed is the interface? For a website, this might be about how beautiful the CSS or graphics are. For a hardware project, it might be more about how good the human-computer interaction is. -
Completion
Does the hack work? Did the team achieve everything they wanted? How many points of failure did the hack have and how many were solved? -
Learning
Did the team stretch themselves? Did they try to learn something new? What kind of projects have they worked on before?
