In addition to the technology that we bring to the table, Phoenix also supplies a solution to a common problem – lack of engineering expertise. Our model is a hybrid of recruiting and staffing but done with a focus on efficiency and savings for our customers.

After confirming customer requirements – that is when the magic starts to happen. Phoenix identifies the best potential candidates, then narrows that list down further before presenting to the customer. This concludes with a meeting involving all three parties to ensure a seamless fit and transition.

One of the unique aspects of our model is that the engineer is technically a Phoenix employee. We pay their salary, benefits, etc., but they go to work every day and work as a member of our customer’s team. Because of our streamlined model, you can save 25-40 percent of your traditional labor expense by letting us absorb the overhead cost of that individual.

Traditional staffing has a high upfront cost of 25-30 percent, on top of the firstyear salary. We turn that model on its head and provide an engineer at an hourly rate, with no other burden cost. Phoenix handles all the “people care” and alleviates the customer’s typical HR function.

Unlike traditional staffing, Phoenix provides a desirable, full benefit package that allows us to attract superior talent who feel secure with their employer.

By using Phoenix to help fill a position, the customer can “test drive” these engineers for a year. They can then hire that individual after a year without any fees or transition costs, unlike many of our competitors.

With all the uncertainty that the manufacturing industries are currently facing, the ability to adapt and be flexible is more important than ever before. Phoenix’s engineering service provides this flexibility better than any other option and allows teams to ramp up or scale down, without dealing with the headaches of onboarding, benefits or severance costs

Phoenix hires people, not resumes.

When a customer needs a position filled quickly, we will find the right person for the job as fast as possible, without compromising on skill level or experience. An example of an expedited hiring we have done in the past is described in detail below.

The Need

We had a customer who urgently needed to fill a critical role. Production was being impacted along with the timing of important project updates.

Our Solution

Collected requirements:

  • Identified the skills needed.
  • Identified educational requirements.
  • Asked for resumes of current employees in similar roles.
  • Most important – kept in contact with the customer and asked questions.

Had a job posting up within one week of the initial contact by customer:

  • Utilized industry-leading search tools.
  • Contacted Phoenix’s internal network in search of suggestions/references.

Screened candidates:

  • Reviewed 59 resumes.
  • Conducted 9 phone interviews.
  • Conducted 3 in-person interviews.
  • Submitted offer to candidate.

The Results

  • Had an offer accepted in less than 2 weeks from initial customer contact.
  • Candidate started on job one business day after in-person interview.
  • Customer saw immediate benefit and productivity in the first week.
  • PTS has developed a strong relationship with this customer and now consults on multiple projects.

Phoenix Technical was able to scope, identify, on-board and deliver the right person for the customer’s needs within two weeks of the initial contact from the customer.

This person is delivering quality support for the customer at a significant cost savings, and we can do this for you too!

Blade tips in Diesel engine turbo chargers can become worn over time from operation. Once the turbine blade tip is ground below the secondary “undersize” limit, it cannot be returned to service, thus leading to premature fallout from it’s capable life. A repair procedure frequently performed on various aviation and land based turbines can restore the airfoil to it’s new make dimension by application of weld build up. As a result, scrapped turbo blades can be returned to service after being repaired by this procedure. The unique qualities of this process, provided limited and focused heat input, eliminating a need for pre and post well heat treat.

Contact us for a welding consultation. We will find the best processes for your next project!

Formerly, turbo nozzle rings (nozzle ring) with excessive cracks and excessive foreign object damage (FOD) were commonly scrapped or repaired with an expensive ADH braze process and/or TIG welded. The nozzle ring’s construction from nickel based alloys made conventional repair methods difficult and financially unfeasible from a cost of quality benefit. An internally developed repair using “Free Form Additive” was selected as the primary process to repair damaged nozzle rings, thus replacing conventional braze and welding repairs. The unique qualities of this process, provided limited and focused heat input, eliminating a need for pre and post well heat treat.
