If you find the stuff I've made saves you time and money, please consider sponsoring me. This helps me offset server and maintenance costs, and means I make a little bit of money for some of my unpaid work. Every contribution is very much appreciated!
FAQ
Why do you do open source?
So, for PHP Monitor, I know I struggled at the start to wrap my head around everything related to Homebrew and PHP configuration files and locations.
Many things can go wrong when you are using Laravel Valet and you are switching PHP versions, or if you frequently upgrade your Homebrew installation... I figured this could use a GUI, so I built this for my own satisfaction.
I also understood that not everyone in the world can afford all these software subscriptions and licenses, I know I couldn't when I started out as a student! This is how I want to give back, by making everything public and free.
What other stuff have you made?
I have also open sourced some other repositories, with ebook-fonts being the other notable one, which is a curated list of fonts for E Ink devices, that I've put a lot of time in. This includes Python scripting with kobo-font-fix in order to get fonts to render optimally on Kobo devices.
This collection also includes customized fonts which have their own repositories, like Readerly, Cartisse and NV Garamond, all freely available.
Should I send you money?
While you are not obligated to do so, I will happily encourage you to send me a small sum as a gift! I'm incredibly grateful for every cent.
This helps in making continued open source contributions possible. I pay for my own hardware, server, domain names, and more. Any financial contributions help offset these costs, especially since they have been more expensive as of late.
What do I get for sponsoring you?
Other than my eternal gratitude? Well, via GitHub Sponsors you will also get early access to certain private repositories if you pledge a certain amount.
Sponsorship here means that I do not accept money in a transactional manner (i.e. established quid pro quo, where there is an expectation of work being done). I only accept gifts as thanks for building and open sourcing the application.
If you want to commission open source software or changes as part of a work contract, this is now possible as of late 2025. Are you interested in that? If so, please get in touch via my company website or send me an email.
What if I cannot afford this?
If you are unable to contribute financially, that's totally fine. No one is obligated to sponsor me, it is completely optional. If you would still like to help me out, then please spread the word about PHP Monitor and my other open source projects and star my projects on GitHub. Thank you!
