Pickhacks is the annual hackathon hosted by Missouri S&T. Meet other hackers from around the world while challenging yourself to grow your knowledge and expertise.

Create anything related to this year's theme, Games! Whether working solo or in a team of up to 4, make something you'd enjoy and try to push the boundaries of what you know! The important part of this weekend is to have fun and learn something new.

Overall prizes are given to the top three projects while a few special prizes will be given separately. View the 'Prizes' section below to view the criteria for winning one of our bonus prizes.

Understand language like a human and build a chatbot that gives personalized advice

Analyze info like a supercomputer and create an app that summarizes complex research papers

Generate creative content like code, scripts, music, and more

Think of the possibilities… what will you build with the Google Gemini API this weekend?

MLH - Best Use of Midnight
1 winner

Prize is JBL Tune 510BT Wireless Headphones

Midnight is a data protection blockchain that offers programmable data protection capabilities powered by zero-knowledge technology to address the delicate balance between data protection, ownership, and utilization. This ensures that developers can leverage blockchain technology without exposing confidential information or losing control over their data.

To build on Midnight, all you need is familiarity with TypeScript or a similar JavaScript based library. The service is free to use and their developer documentation has all the information you need to get started. Build a DApp using Midnight this weekend for a chance to win wireless headphones for you and each of your team mates!

The project explored a new technology or had unique ideas. The project approaches an issue in a fresh or exciting way. It’s clear the hackers had fun working on their project, and are passionate about what they created.
  • Theme and Goal
The project aligns well with the hackathon’s theme and has a clear objective. The game’s mechanics or design reflects thoughtful consideration of the theme. The team successfully communicated what they aimed to achieve with their project.
