Focus for this Seasonal Reach-In/Teach-in:

We invite you to our regular practices of breathing, meditation and doodling while we explore how Pat’s story inspires us to tell ours.  We will hear from Robyn Spencer on the story of Pat Is Back.  Gabby Questa tells a story of her family system and shares a reading from a book Pat helped edit (Lessons From the Damned) in which Pat inspired young black thinkers to challenge capitalism, a system that tries to divide us. And Lorraine LaPrade will share about Playback Theater as a tool we use at these teach-ins to support our Pat Is Back community to share our stories.  Sharing our stories allows for healing and connection that offers the possibility of transformation to unite for a caring economy.

Revolution
As A Practice…Pat inspired her mentees to think widely, like her study of Cuba and create practices to sustain them in long haul activism.   How can we continue to use Pat’s teaching to support our own political growth and care?

We invite you to the practices we have talked about before…breathing, meditation, and doodling while listening to excerpts of Pat from Lupe’s video Pat! A Revolutionary Black Molecule.  We will have a selected reading from Lupe’s Political Novel To Face It, photos and art inspired by travel to Cuba, as well as an interview and reflections with Jennifer Forest from Pat Is Back.
