The season also welcomes the introduction of PPA Canada and PPA Italy, who will be hosting PPA 125 and 250 events in Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, Portoroz (Slovenia), Brescia and more to be announced. The growth and success of professional pickleball continues in Asia and Australia, as well – the PPA Asia season will feature the most ranking points up for grabs for pros in its history, and PPA Australia will host a record-setting Australian Pickleball Open with a $500,000 prize pool. All points earned at any tournament under the PPA umbrella count towards a unified global ranking.

DALLAS, Feb. 9, 2026 – The Professional Pickleball Association (PPA Tour) is thrilled to announce Powerball® as the official title sponsor for the Pickleball State Championship Series, a nationwide tournament series that culminates at the Pickleball World Championships, the marquee event in the sport of pickleball.

The series will now officially be known as the “Powerball Pickleball State Championship Series” across all states.

The Powerball Pickleball State Championship Series features more than 55 tournaments across all 50 states, with some states hosting multiple events.  The series gives amateur players of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to compete within their respective divisions in each state’s amateur championship. Gold medalists in each state who earn the title of state champion, will receive automatic qualification into the state champions brackets of the Pickleball World Championships, held in early November.

The Championship court at the Pickleball World Championships, where the world’s top pro pickleball players will compete for gold, will also be known as the “Powerball Championship Court.”

“This partnership with Powerball manifests critical investment in elemental pickleball across America and is a milestone for local, amateur pickleball in every state,” said PPA Founder & CEO Connor Pardoe. “This sport is built on a strong foundation of community, grassroots play and the Powerball Pickleball State Championship Series is central in keeping true to that spirit.”

“For more than three decades, Powerball has inspired people to dream big and imagine what’s possible,” said Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO Matt Strawn. “Through the Powerball Pickleball State Championship Series, we’re proud to bring that same spirit of opportunity to athletes across the country – giving them a chance to chase their own championship dreams.”

Powerball’s title sponsorship of the Pickleball State Championship Series aligns with its commitment to supporting local services and programs everywhere the game is sold. More than half of all proceeds from a $2 Powerball ticket stay in the jurisdiction where it was sold to fund good causes, ranging from education to support for veterans. Since its inception in 1992, Powerball has generated more than $38 billion for good causes supported by U.S. lotteries.

This partnership between Powerball and the PPA highlights a shared dedication to fostering community engagement and promoting active lifestyles through America’s fastest growing sport. The Powerball  Pickleball State Championship Series will continue to grow and amplify the sport of pickleball by showcasing and rewarding the very best pickleball tournament directors and players in the country.

The PPA was assisted by PIVOT Agency, its sponsorship sales agency of record, in the development of this partnership.
