Somehow this post slipped past my radar. Lots going on these days for me, as I’m the travel director for the Humboldt County Children’s Author Festival. https://www.authorfest.org/ We’re flying in 25 nationally known authors to our area in October. While they’re here, we take them around to over 60 county schools to talk to kids about their books and the life of a writer.

Thank you for the opportunity to take part in This is How We Eat. I’m one of those teachers who will forever love writing about their students and how they impacted me. It is a mutually beneficial relationship. I’m looking forward to blogging about the book on Saturday.

It was not as bad as predicted for my area, so we dodged a tornado which I was happy for after seeing last week’s family of tornadoes in Michigan, plus I stayed on my computer watching coverage through Michigan Storm Chasers, but in the meantime, there was significant damage in Indiana and Illinois which was predicted to head our way. So that made me nervous but nothing happened with regard to a raucous storm until 3:15 a.m. and I stayed up until 4:00 a.m. to ensure it was safe to go to bed. I do have a weather alarm but since the windstorm and downed wire fire, I am spooked about something happening in the middle of the night, so I now stay up and alert.
