Hey Dan — I think the best way would be for people to upgrade from just a subscription to a membership. In creating their member profile, they’ll be able to enter a First and Last Name.

Jerod, what is your advice for capturing first and last names on subscribers once they have signed up using only their email address? Now that I’ve made this choice, I’m wondering how to eventually get them to provide this additional information. Do I ask them to subscribe to another list? Or is there a way to have them opt in on another level where they have to provide first and last name to join something else?

Jared, on my Settings > Content area, I don’t have the “Homepage SEO” option. Mine says “Front Page SEO,” and then “You can determine the title and description for the front page by editing the front page itself.” So will the formula still work the same way?

Jerod, is there some sort of code snippet library available through my Rainmaker management suite? For all these items like “hide from” and “show to” and other useful snippets, it would be great if you had a single place to find them all.

I’m currently working on my Rainmaker site using the Minimum Pro theme, and will eventually migrate my existing site over. I have a couple of questions regarding navigation for my content:

1) On my existing site, which has a typical blog type homepage, I have navigation below the header that relates to my categories. 7 main navigation tabs show, and within those are 10 more as sub-menus. I do intend to reduce/consolidate the number of categories (I know Chris recommended having 5-7). My question is: I see quite a few blogs today that don’t have navigation like this. I presume they rely on people using the Categories and Tags listed at the end of each post. Correct? If so, should I then adopt this style?

2) And then, if I don’t have navigation tabs for categories, does a Search box then become the main way people find topical articles?

3) One of the navigation links I’d like to have at the top (header area) would be for my cornerstone content, of which there will be 4 main topics — each having its own landing page. Could that be the “Resources” tab? And would that tab then have a sub-menu for the 4 topics?
