But she acts just like Tiffy …she has me rub her tummy constantly ….she relaxes and almost goes to sleep but once I stop … crazy! HOWEVER, she does this when I’m planning to go out! I’ve been giving her medicine for newborns with gas … and it helps … but I keep having a panicking thought … was if her intestines are twisted or something. But I don’t have $700 for gas. I don’t know what to do!,,

Your article was therapy to me. Grateful for the jolting mention – it was freaking me out and I imagined the worst and was going to rush her to the ER. Thank you.

She’s sleeping alit which is good but she’s started jumping up and moving around like something is biting her inner leg. I was thinking it was a nerve issue?? But pain tolerance makes sense she is on pain meds for the soreness from the Vet. Hopefully each day she’ll improve. Thank you!!

This is the first time I’ve seen a comment about a dog scooting after being neutered, our very lively, playful 16 month dog had his op 5 days ago and is very lethargic, not interested in anything, constantly jumping in pain and scooting, we’ve had him back to the vets twice and they expressed his anal gland yesterday but the scooting is continuing, he can’t even walk a couple of steps without dragging his bum along the floor, hoping to see an improvement soon ☹️

Comment on Daisy The Purple Paper Post-It Eater by Tess M Garfield https://raisingdaisy.wordpress.com/2011/06/20/daisy-the-purple-paper-post-it-eater/#comment-11817 Sun, 21 Jul 2019 11:49:02 +0000 http://raisingdaisy.wordpress.com/?p=1812#comment-11817 A few years late but… I found this article because I searched “my dog ate post-it notes”. I have two five-year-old Labradors who go through phases of eating anything they can get hold of. This morning I left my almost full pack of bright yellow post-it notes with a pen and a book for no more than five minutes. I came back to find only a pen and a book. I searched high and low expecting the missing item (about three times the size of the bookmark type), but couldn’t find it. I then checked every room with an open door, expecting one of the dogs had picked them up, had a nibble and abandoned them. Nope, what I found was a few soggy yellow crumbs. I showed the dogs a whole new pack and asked, “who did that?” One of them lowered her head in shame! Now hoping she’ll be okay but it will be interesting to see what she ‘produces’ over the next couple of days.

We have a 5 1/2 month old Aussie doodle, Callie, who was spayed yesterday. She has been exhibiting about all of the symptoms listed. I was very worried until I read this article. I can’t stand watching our baby girl in pain! Hope everyone’s babies are all healed and pain free soon! Thank you so much for the information!

Comment on The Rose Bush That Wouldn’t Die by Connie WALKER https://raisingdaisy.wordpress.com/2011/06/07/the-rose-bush-that-wouldnt-die/#comment-11501 Fri, 17 Aug 2018 17:32:18 +0000 http://raisingdaisy.wordpress.com/?p=1795#comment-11501 I used to have the same bush. I hated that bush! My ex had picked it out ignoring the beautiful white rose bush I had wanted. I had a small front garden walking past to sit on the front step, the thistles would scratch you. I tried everything to kill that bush, trimmed it in March, did not water (so I forgot the down spot had an extension that was buried underneath of it). Yet it persevered and tormented me by growing further. I eventually uprooted it and gave it to a neighbour when I moved. I don’t know the outcome after that. But despite all my efforts to have it die, it didn’t while it was in my plant murderous hands.

My 2 year old Bichon Frise was spayed 5 days ago and experienced a lot of the same behavioural symptoms you have described post-op. We went back to the vet for her post-op check and her incision is healing beautifully. When we walked into the vet, she acted like her normal happy, cheeky self and I seriously thought I was paranoid because she was exhibiting all this behaviour at home but not in front of the vet! The vet advised that she seems to be more sensitive than other doggies.
I was a little relieved when we left the vet, as they explained that this is normal for sensitive dogs. They prescribed me more Tramadol for her so she can sleep easier. Honestly, I was still a little anxious until I read this post! I had done all the research on spays, but nothing described our experience until this post. I’m already noticing small improvements tonight, but am keen for our pooch to be back to her normal self.

It has helped me heaps. I had my 6 month old Maltese Shihtzu spayed Tuesday, it is now thurs evening with all the above symptoms. I feel terrible. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced 2 additional symptoms – panting and drinking lots of water. Thanks.
