Great work with the Chef recipes. Thanks a lot to you and Edwin for the effort.
I tested some of them and found a small issue in a particular case. In the ‘fmw_domain’ cookbook, the ‘extension_jrf’ recipe doesn’t correctly pick up the “restricted=true” use case, due to missing quotes:

if node[‘fmw_domain’].attribute?(‘restricted’) and node[‘fmw_domain’][‘restricted’] == true

It works well after changing this line to:
if node[‘fmw_domain’].attribute?(‘restricted’) and node[‘fmw_domain’][‘restricted’] == ‘true’

Thanks again and best regards,
Radu

I think Puppet (or Chef) is a better way to manage configuration, nice to see how you integrate these tools.

2. Restart is not required, and code it not restarting as well due to some reason.

3. Line no 164, there is a bug. We need to pass jndi name instead.

I think the killer feature of Docker its vendor independent format providing (almost perfect) location transparency. Creating containers locally, that can also run on the major clouds without any changes such as Amazon and Google is fabulous.

Supporting Docker with OEL and ksplice can be only the first step.
Would be cool to see Docker supported on Oracle Cloud soon 🙂

The only thing I am weary of is the noise it may create in scm from committing. You can maybe circumvent that by automatically creating a branch to do all of the versioning, building, testing,etc.. When the build fails you kill the branch. No noise in your mainline that way.
