What used to be generally accepted truths like gender as male and female, to truth as interpreted by one’s own feelings makes following true gospel of Jesus Christ almost too radical or archaic for so many Americans. Prayer and fasting for God’s grace, a renewed mind for Christians whom have saving faith, comes from reading the Bible, having the Holy Spirit come alongside to guide, and salvation in Christ alone. This will stem this tide of pure evil in the form of constant argument, it is work of the devil designed to divide the church of Christ. . The Lord is sovereign. Christ is King, Prophet and Priest and He reigns forever.

Comment on A[n] [Internet] Ministry of Criticism and Fault-finding? by Chris https://reformedreader.wordpress.com/2026/03/07/a-internet-ministry-of-criticism-and-fault-finding/#comment-13904 Sun, 08 Mar 2026 01:36:17 +0000 http://reformedreader.wordpress.com/?p=32665#comment-13904 Thank you for this post. I appreciate it and agree with it. There is too much rankling over things that are not that important. At the same time, with the Biblical Worldview of Americans at an all time low (somewhere between 4 and 6 percent), we need knowledgeable Christians to confront things like faulty ecumenism, false prophets, and the many false teachers out there today.

https://www.barna.com/research/a-biblical-worldview-has-a-radical-effect-on-a-persons-life/

A good example of this effort can be found in a few good places but there are not enough Christians doing the work.

Here is an example of a blog trying to help Catholics:

Roman Catholicism Through the Lens of Scripture, Episode 1: Establishing Scripture as the Supreme Authority

I think we are at the point where anyone who calls themselves a protestant should watch the video on this post along with Catholics.

Mike Winger, someone who would rather spend his time going verse by verse through the Bible, is having to stop and spend lots of time exposing so many bad things happening in Pentecostal and charismatic circles, because no one else is doing it.

This is one of his recent videos:

Because of the severe lack of Bible knowledge among Americans, we need people who are willing to spend the time to help those who are being harmed by false gospel messages.

I really appreciate the few who are doing that.

Again, thank you for this post.

Comment on The De-Christianization of the Church in Nazi Germany (Or: Hitler’s Nazification of the Church in Nazi Germany) by Reformed Reader https://reformedreader.wordpress.com/2026/02/19/the-de-christianization-of-the-church-in-nazi-germany-or-hitlers-nazification-of-the-church-in-nazi-germany/#comment-13903 Fri, 20 Feb 2026 14:36:43 +0000 http://reformedreader.wordpress.com/?p=32608#comment-13903 In reply to Chris Ross.

Thanks, Chris, and well said. You’re exactly right about people gravitating to extreme positions to overcome opposing viewpoints. And yes, Christians get sucked up in this as well and end up using unbiblical methods to “win” whatever battle of the culture war they’re “fighting.”

Books…I like Os Guinness’ approach. He’s very level-headed and knows history quite well. I also appreciate David VanDrunen’s “Politics After Christendom.” If I think of any more, maybe I’ll blog on them here!

Blessings,
Shane

Comment on The De-Christianization of the Church in Nazi Germany (Or: Hitler’s Nazification of the Church in Nazi Germany) by Chris Ross https://reformedreader.wordpress.com/2026/02/19/the-de-christianization-of-the-church-in-nazi-germany-or-hitlers-nazification-of-the-church-in-nazi-germany/#comment-13902 Thu, 19 Feb 2026 23:09:21 +0000 http://reformedreader.wordpress.com/?p=32608#comment-13902 Thanks for the thoughtful presentation of a defence of Christianity by the Confessing Church. That some affirm that Hitler wasn’t so bad is almost beyond belief.

The culture wars and associated ideology is creating a polarised society, which I see evident in every election. People are gravitating to extreme positions in an effort to overcome the/any opposing viewpoints.

This cultural influence is most dangerous for the average Christian as we could easily be swept up with the extremes of society, thinking there is no other option. If we learn anything from the Confessing Church’s resistance to the Nazis, it is that we need to think more about society and issues and realise that we will always offend someone.

In light of the above, including what you have written, would you recommend any introductory to intermediate level books addressing a Christian approach to politics and society?

Keep up the great narrative on the presentation of a faithful understanding of history.
