What’s new in Research Compliance
Research Compliance that Works for You!
At Research Compliance, our goal is simple: make compliance easier, keep research moving forward, and support your success.
Updated Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
New CUI Best Practices Section, including New Guidance for Handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
New guidance has been developed that outlines the standard process for receiving, storing, and managing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) to ensure compliance with federal requirements. CUI is sensitive information that is not classified but must still be protected according to federal regulations. This type of information may be requested or received at different stages of the research process, including in funding opportunity announcements, during proposal development and pre-award review, or after an award is made. If you encounter CUI as part of a proposal or award, this guidance will help you understand how to handle and manage it appropriately.

Research Compliance Deep Dive – Conflict of Interest (COI)
This one-hour “Deep Dive” session provides RAs with an in-depth look at the Conflict of Interest (COI) framework and related processes. While RAs are not responsible for determining conflicts, their work frequently intersects with COI requirements during proposal development, award setup, sponsor negotiations, and subrecipient coordination.
The session will walk through key COI process stages (disclosure, review, management, and monitoring) to provide RA’s with greater visibility into how matters move through the Research Compliance lifecycle.
