]]>Travis began his journey with RME in 2007 as Controller, and his dedication and expertise have been pivotal to the company’s growth. Over the years, he has held progressively senior roles, including General Manager of Business Intelligence and Director of Finance, before being appointed CFO in 2025. Throughout his tenure, Travis has played a key role in shaping RME into one of Canada’s leading providers of new and used equipment, parts, service, and technology solutions for producers across the Prairies.
While his focus has been on finance and strategy, Travis has had the privilege of supporting the agriculture and construction industries from behind the scenes. Working alongside teams that serve farmers, ranchers and various trades daily has given him a deep appreciation for the resilience, innovation, and values that define the communities in which we serve.
Prior to joining RME, Travis held various cost accounting and production management positions at Saputo Inc. and Gienow Building Products. He earned his Bachelor of Management in Accounting from the University of Lethbridge in 1996 and obtained his Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation in 2003.
Outside of work, Travis enjoys traveling, taking trips to watch Major League Baseball games, and tackling DIY projects around his home.

]]>The post Leader Spotlight: Garrett Ganden appeared first on RME.
]]>Having grown up in southern Alberta with a small family farm, Ganden’s connection to agriculture runs deep. After earning an accounting management degree from the University of Lethbridge, he joined Hammer Equipment Sales—a precursor to RME. Since then, his career has been intertwined with the company’s evolution.
Ganden took on the role of Chief Operating Officer in early 2011, leading the company through its transition to a public entity and its subsequent privatization. Now, as CEO, since 2015, he oversees the operations of 44 RME locations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Under his leadership, RME has become a trusted partner for customers across the Canadian Prairies, offering high-quality products and dependable service. Ganden emphasizes one key goal in RME’s customer support strategy, “How do we make sure we can take care of them regardless of where they are?”
At the core of Ganden’s leadership philosophy is empowering RME’s team of over 1,000 employees to embody the company’s values. He focuses on strategies that enhance RME’s ability to deliver exceptional support to customers and manufacturers alike. “We’re right there with you, shoulder to shoulder, no matter the challenges you’re facing. We are always in your corner,” Ganden shares.
For Ganden, the people at RME are what make the business truly special. From employees to customers, he finds endless inspiration working with those who share a genuine commitment to their work. “It’s the people that work within Rocky. The customers that we deal with, everybody is salt of the earth. We have the best people in our dealerships, people that truly care,” he says.
Ganden’s vision for RME centers around the idea of community. He believes in building long-term partnerships with customers, supporting them like a dependable neighbor ready to lend a hand. “We want to grow with our customers and support our communities. It’s not just about transactions; it’s about making a difference,” he explains.
Under Ganden’s leadership, RME is committed to being a reliable partner for the ag community, standing by its customers and helping them succeed. Whether it’s providing quality equipment, dependable service, or simply a helping hand, RME works to ensure a brighter future for the communities it serves.

]]>The post Leader Spotlight: Sean Krahn appeared first on RME.
]]>Krahn’s dedication to the industry comes naturally. Growing up immersed in construction, he was inspired by his father’s success in running multiple companies. This foundation led him to spend 15 years managing construction portfolios for major manufacturers. Today, he’s an essential part of RME, combining his experience with a genuine drive to deliver excellence.
At RME, Krahn plays a dual role, overseeing both the day-to-day and strategic direction of the construction sales team. Ask him what drives his team’s success, and he credits the people. “We’re a big company with small company values. Our people care. People make the difference. It’s what sets us apart,” he explains.
For Krahn, innovation and customer success go hand in hand. From traditional construction equipment like skid steer loaders and excavators to precision technology solutions, he’s always exploring better ways to support his customers. “The industry is always reinventing itself. You see the young innovators stepping up and pushing boundaries, and it’s exciting to watch,” says Krahn.
One area Krahn is particularly proud of is RME’s rental program, Rocky Rents. Managing this portfolio has enabled Krahn to deliver flexible solutions that meet both short- and long-term customer needs. “Now we’re leveraging our construction offering in a rental capacity,” he explains. “It’s all about getting it right for the customer every single time.”
When customers choose RME, they’re getting more than a supplier. They’re gaining a partner who is deeply invested in their success. Krahn emphasizes the importance of this relationship, saying, “It’s about how we interact with our customers, finding the right solutions at the right time to ensure their efficiency and success.”
Through his leadership, dedication, and unwavering focus on meeting customer needs, Sean Krahn embodies RME’s commitment to driving operational success for the construction community.

]]>The post RME Names Recipients of the 2025 Ag Society Grant appeared first on RME.
]]>The Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME) Right by You Ag Society Grant program has returned for its fifth year, bestowing funding for agricultural societies across the prairies.
Agricultural societies are vital organizations that help enrich life in rural communities. Local volunteers run events, deliver educational programs and provide dedicated community spaces for residents to enjoy. RME is proud to support four more ag societies with $10,000 grants to advance approved community initiatives.
In Northern Alberta, the Tomahawk & District Sports Ag Society was looking to purchase a new zero-turn mower for their ag ground hall. They will be receiving a brand-new Ferris IS700-60C Zero Turn Mower. “In the heart of Tomahawk, our community hall has been lovingly maintained by volunteers for generations. Endless hours to keeping the grounds beautiful—a task that now spans over 10 acres filled with trees, fences, and memories. Mowing takes a full day, often stretching into two, depending on the weather. With our aging equipment, the job is growing harder,” said Melissa Strocher. “A second, zero-turn mower is going be a game-changer—saving time, easing the load, and letting our volunteers focus on what they do best: building community. With this grant, we can keep our hall—and our community—growing strong.”
The Taber Exhibition Association, which has a busy facility in Southern Alberta, will be upgrading their tractor to help maintain the grounds. “Thank you so much for selecting the Taber Exhibition Association as a recipient of the RME Right By You Ag Society grant. Our facility is busy year-round hosting events that bring together our community, and maintaining the grounds is a big part of making those events possible,” said Amanda Valgardson. “With the support of this grant, we’ll be able to upgrade our tractor, which is essential for keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently. This investment will help us continue providing a safe, welcoming space for our community to gather and celebrate agriculture, culture, and connection.”
The Perdue Ag Society will also receive a brand-new Ferris IS700-60C Zero Turn Mower for their grounds, which serves Asquith and Perdue in Saskatchewan. “The Perdue Agriculture Society is thrilled to accept this donation support from RME. We have just shy of 11 acres to maintain—mostly grassy areas, so this new equipment will help immensely in terms of increasing efficiency as well as safety,” said Cary Lammers. “A zero turn will be much better for getting in and around our buildings and arenas than our current setup. This is indeed a significant upgrade—the school-aged groundskeeper that takes care of the grounds is going to be very excited! Thank You RME!”
In Manitoba, the Dauphin Ag Society is building an infield for chuckwagon and chariot races and will be using their grant towards the project. “The RME Right By You Grant has allowed us at the Dauphin Ag Society to invest in freestanding panels for our Chuck and Chariot infield,” said Terron Stykalo. “This allows us to put on not only a fantastic show, it also allows us to have a safe venue for fans and participants. RME has allowed us to invest in a stronger safer future for all!”
We congratulate all of the recipients of this year’s grant and look forward to seeing their projects come to fruition in the near future. We also thank the agricultural societies that submitted applications earlier this year. Does your local ag society have an upcoming project that could use a boost? ]]>The post Be Harvest-Ready: Our Recommended Combine Performance Checklist appeared first on RME.
]]>Steven recommends a thorough, on-farm combine performance checklist so you make needed adjustments, order parts, or book service ahead of service.
Begin by operating the combine to check overall performance. Test each header and complete a function test. Here are a few:
We recommend operating the combine at full range of travel to see how it is running.
For a thorough inspection, Steven prefers to start from the front of the combine, and then work through to the back, and then move up to the cab.
Begin with the header:
Drapers: Check tension, condition, and look for holes or foreign materials like animal nests. Inspect bearings and joiners.
Feed Drums: Look at fingers and auger flightings. Ensure proper greasing and smooth movement. Perform a header height calibration.
Feeder House: Examine the feeder chain’s tension and wear. Inspect the rock trap or beater system. These can collect debris or house animals during storage.
Rotor & Threshing System:
Cleaning System: We highly recommend spending extra time on the cleaning system. Modern combines have three-sieve assemblies. Make sure they move properly. When combines get older, the metal in the sieves will start to crack. That metal might end up with your grain and end up in the clean grain elevator or go out the back of the combine without you realizing. Use a flashlight to inspect thoroughly.
Chopper: Check knife sharpness and general condition. Sharp knives ensure that the straw is properly processed and chopped so that they end up in the field in a nice, even finish.
Grain Elevator:
Always ensure service doors and panels are securely closed before heading to the field.
Regardless of how long you’ve had the machine, spend time getting comfortable with the cab’s technology:
Check the GPS and correction service subscription early to avoid last-minute issues. Ensure automation parameters are properly configured for the conditions. Your local RME Precision Support Specialist is ready to help set these up.
Before you hit the fields, consider these tips:
Harvest prep isn’t just about the machine; it’s a team effort. Your local RME Precision Support Specialists, Parts, and Service teams are here to ensure your combine runs at peak efficiency. Don’t wait–contact your local RME today to get ahead of the season.

]]>The post Leader Spotlight: Sheldon Chamberlin appeared first on RME.
]]>Growing up on his family’s farm in Saskatchewan, Chamberlin was immersed in agriculture from an early age. It was there that he learned the importance of hard work and experienced firsthand the entrepreneurial drive of his father, who also owned and operated two different equipment dealerships, one specializing in Case IH equipment. Inspired by his father’s passion for the industry, Chamberlin pursued a degree in business administration and economics, which led him to RME in 2007. Over the years, he has taken on a variety of roles across the company, each strengthening his ability to provide customers with the solutions they need.
Chamberlin’s deep connection to agriculture fuels his customer-focused approach. Drawing on his firsthand experience of farming and his expertise with agricultural equipment, he strives to create tailored solutions that offer practical value. “Helping customers find the right solutions for their operations is one of the most enjoyable parts of the business,” he explains.
His enthusiasm for the industry extends beyond customer relationships. Chamberlin remains deeply inspired by the rapid growth of innovative agricultural technologies and their potential to revolutionize farming. “The industry is always changing, and people may not realize how much technology there actually is in agriculture. It’s exciting,” he says. This excitement drives his mission to ensure RME customers can take full advantage of these advancements.
Chamberlin’s dedication is grounded in his personal connection to the industry. He continues to farm near Regina, using Case IH equipment regularly. This hands-on experience enhances his ability to understand the needs of RME’s customers on a deeper level. “It keeps me active in the agricultural community and offers a better understanding of the equipment. I’m very fortunate to be on both sides of the equation,” he says.
At RME, Chamberlin is proud to work for a company that prioritizes its customers. “What makes RME unique is our hands-on approach, deep industry knowledge, and unmatched commitment to customer experience,” he shares. With a focus on building meaningful relationships and providing customized solutions, Chamberlin and the team at RME embody the company’s mission to deliver excellent service with a personal touch. “We still have that small-town feel. We care, and we want our customers to be happy and have a good experience.”

]]>Since 2022, RME has been honored to play a vital role in this iconic event, supplying the distinctive Case IH red equipment that attendees see across the grounds at GMC Stadium. From the heart-pounding rodeos to the jaw-dropping Evening Grandstand Show, our contributions to this celebration reflect not only the power of our machines but also our commitment to the people and communities we serve.
Throughout the 10-day extravaganza, our Case IH equipment powers the action behind the scenes. Each evening, an RME Case IH Steiger Quadtrac magnificently hauls the Grandstand Show stage into position, setting the stage for unforgettable performances filled with music, stunts, and pyrotechnics. Meanwhile, our hardworking Case IH 4WD Maxxum tractors put in over 100 hours during the Stampede, preparing the infield for the rodeo athletes and grooming the track to ensure perfect conditions for the world-class rodeo and chuckwagon racing events.

Each year, RME provides a total of two Steiger 715 Quadtracs, six Maxxums, and six Farmalls to the Calgary Stampede, showcasing the strength and reliability that farmers trust daily. Whether it’s pulling the Grandstand, grooming the grounds, or handling odd jobs like moving fireworks trailers, our equipment stands as a testament to the power and tradition of modern agriculture.
But RME’s impact goes beyond the Stampede itself. Each April, during Aggie Days, RME and Case IH equipment take center stage once again. This annual event allows thousands of school-aged children to learn about agriculture and the tools farmers rely on to plant, grow, and harvest successfully. It’s a chance to inspire the next generation and highlight the vital connection between communities and the land.
Being part of the Calgary Stampede is more than brand recognition or exposure. For RME, it’s about pride. It’s about standing side by side with the farmers, ranchers, and rural families who work tirelessly to feed and sustain us all. It’s about honoring the values that unite us as a community.
At RME, we are committed to doing what’s RIGHT—for agriculture, for our neighbors, and for the rural way of life. Our partnership with the Calgary Stampede is a celebration of that commitment. We look forward to seeing the Stampede grounds come alive with RED once again in 2025, as we continue to support the values that fuel our communities and keep agriculture at the heart of Western Canada.
