Pay Transparency Legislation Update
BC implemented pay transparency legislation in 2023, which imposed requirements on employers, including: indicating expected pay in job postings, and not asking job applicants about what they have been paid by other employers. The BC Pay Transparency Act also required that employers of a certain size must post annual pay transparency reports each year. Initially this reporting requirement captured only those employers with relatively large workforces.
