As we finish up lunch, some of us head over to the casino tables to try our luck while others opt to mingle some more and taste dessert. The noise level intensifies as people begin exclaiming over their lucky draws, or close calls. Some just wander from table to table as observers, cheering for their friends or edging the competition on. In one corner of the room a fierce game of UNO takes place, with higher stakes than any of the casino games. In this game it is solely pride that is on the line. After everyone has a chance to accumulate some chips and enjoy some time with their colleagues in a lighthearted atmosphere, it is time for the highlight of the event, the award ceremony.

We settle into our seats and direct our attention to the front of the room where Gil Horwitz, Sage’s founder, and CEO, stands. Gil empowers the team with a lesson on the core values of an effective leader, highlights Sage Ventures’ major achievements in 2023, and recognizes the teams and team members that made noteworthy contributions this year. There is a sense of camaraderie in the air as everyone cheers each other on, and even once the ceremony ends a feeling of pride and contentment lingers. People begin to slip away to play a few more games, get a few more drinks, spend a few more minutes enjoying each other’s company. The day ends with Julie and Diamond raffling off prizes to some lucky winners. We leave with a profound sense of accomplishment, a renewed sense of purpose, and a steadfast determination to make 2024 the best year yet.

As our tenure in Prince George’s County progressed, we began actively seeking opportunities for development. This pursuit has culminated in Cedar Pointe Townhomes, our inaugural development project within the county. Conveniently located less than one mile from Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, MD, this project encompasses the creation of 34 homes available for sale.

Our esteemed CEO, Gil Horwitz, is enthusiastic about this undertaking, viewing it as a significant milestone for our organization. We are fervently pursuing additional development prospects within the county, and we are pleased to report that the initial phase of home construction is progressing admirably.

A Recap of Our Year So Far

Before we dive into the details of our fantastic Q3 event, let’s take a quick look back at the year. In Q1, we held our annual event and awards ceremony to celebrate our 2022 accomplishments. It was a night of recognizing the hard work and dedication of our team members who went above and beyond to make Sage shine. This set the bar high for the rest of the year.

In Q2, we switched gears and enjoyed an annual outing at the Baltimore Orioles game. It was a day of relaxation, cheers, and bonding over our shared love for baseball. These moments together not only recharge our batteries but also strengthen our sense of unity.

Q3 Event at Bowlero: Strikes, Spares, and Smiles

Q3 was a time to unwind and let our hair down. We took our team to Bowlero, a fantastic bowling alley in Columbia, MD, for a day of friendly competition and lots of fun. The atmosphere was electric, and you could feel the excitement in the air as we laced up our bowling shoes and hit the lanes.

Not only was it a great time for team building, but the food was also top-notch. With a delicious spread of snacks, appetizers, and refreshing drinks, no one left hungry. The event was a perfect blend of relaxation, camaraderie, and indulgence.

Celebrating Excellence: Shary Fleurimond Named Property Manager of the Quarter

As the day’s activities wound down, our CEO, Gil Horwitz, took the stage to present a special award. The Property Manager of the Quarter award is an honor that recognizes exceptional dedication and hard work, qualities we value greatly at Sage.

This time, the award went to Shary Fleurimond, who joined the Sage team in January as the property manager at Fieldside Grande, our first ground-up lease-up property. Shary has been an invaluable addition to our team, consistently going above and beyond to ensure our properties run smoothly and our residents are happy.

We are immensely grateful for Shary’s dedication and hard work. Her commitment to our mission and her tireless efforts have made a significant impact on our organization, and it’s only fitting that she received this well-deserved recognition.

On Tuesday morning, our residents were greeted with our beautiful new signage displaying the community’s new name, and an email announcing all they have to look forward to in the coming months.

In fact, we have already begun in-unit renovations, and our residents are thrilled with the results. Each renovated unit includes upgraded cabinetry, granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and a resident favorite; in-unit washers and dryers. Each home has a brand-new look, while still maintaining its cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

But the improvements do not stop there. We have been hard at work cleaning up and enhancing the property’s exterior as well, so that all current and future residents can comfortably enjoy strolling the expansive grounds.

Country Village Apartments has worked hard to be Bel Air’s first choice of apartments since 1970, and as we journey into the new generation of apartment living as Belcove Place, we welcome you to follow us on this journey.

While Stemmers Run may be smaller in scale compared to our typical projects, featuring just 26 homes, rest assured that the Sage commitment to delivering high-quality residences remains unwavering.

With a track record of constructing and selling over 300 townhomes, we’ve honed our expertise, understanding precisely what resonates with homebuyers. Stemmers Run embodies the culmination of this experience, offering homes that meet the desires and expectations of modern homeowners.

Guided by Shary Fleurimond, the Property Manager of Fieldside Grande, our team had the privilege of touring the property. The apartments left us in awe with their stunning design, and the top-notch amenities underscored the commitment to excellence.

At the heart of this successful event was our esteemed leadership team. From President Sam Dinovitz and CFO Rob Wright to VP of Asset Management Moshe Marcus, their guidance ensured another fruitful Finance Academy. The Regional Manager team also played a key role, launching the budget process with an engaging session.

Coming together in person always proves to be a highly productive experience. It’s a time when we not only learn and grow together but also strengthen our collective capabilities. Adding to the excitement, CEO Gil Horwitz surprised us with a visit, capping off the day with a memorable team photo—a testament to our unity and shared dedication to continuous improvement.

Having served as our Vice President of Operations for several years, Sam consistently showcased a deep commitment to our mission, a strong work ethic, and an unwavering dedication to excellence. His pivotal role in steering our company towards success has been evident, and we eagerly anticipate the significant impact he is poised to make in his new capacity as President. This promotion stands as a testament to Sam’s outstanding leadership qualities, and we are excited about the continued growth and success that will unfold under his capable guidance. Recognizing the importance of team bonding, we value the impact it has on our overall productivity and success. While each property functions as an individual team, it is integral to understand that we are also part of a larger Sage Team. Our commitment to growth and evolution is a collective effort, and every member of the team plays a vital role in contributing to our shared success.

Post-lunch, the team transitioned to the heart of the action by entering the stadium for the game. Occupying the left field seats as a united group, our team members, some not even avid baseball fans, enjoyed the shared experience despite the Orioles facing defeat. The event was deemed a success, reinforcing the belief that such outings foster a positive team spirit.
