First few weeks into the SS400+ road show, interest keeps rising across every stop. Dealers and growers in Ontario, Michigan, and Indiana shared strong feedback. More regions now request field demos ahead of the tour schedule. Momentum keeps building as more people hear about the performance of the SS400+ Chassis Mounted Spinner Spreader.

Numbers from the first three weeks show strong output.

·         Acres covered reached 3867.6

·         Average rate reached 177.8 lb per acre

·         Total product applied reached 606,763 lb

·         Field time reached 16 hours 44 minutes

·         Ground speed held near 17 miles per hour

·         Hourly productivity reached 231.6 acres

Michigan runs reached ranges between 183 and 300 acres per hour. Indiana stops reached steady output between 250 and 275 acres per hour. Every region reported consistent pattern quality, strong control across wide swaths, and smooth operation at higher speeds.

Key SS400+ features drive this level of performance. Dual 30-inch spinner disks deliver a wide, even spread pattern. Section control supports precise application across long passes. A 420 cu ft hopper, with a larger 427 cu ft option, supports longer runs with fewer stops. Optional multi-bin setups support two-product work. A wider spread pattern covers more ground with every pass. These features support higher productivity for busy seasons and tight application windows.

Mark Magee, National Accounts and Application Specialist, shared his view on the progress.
“We are seeing strong interest from every stop. Dealers want field time with the SS400+. Growers request runs as well mainly from connecting with us through our social media channels. The SS400+ delivers steady output and strong pattern control across many fields. This response shows momentum for the road show and new opportunities across several regions.”

Dealer teams across multiple territories now request stops for customer demos. Growers reach out for field passes to compare output, spread consistency, and coverage across real acres. Strong performance from the SS400+ drives both sides of this demand.

Teams with dealers or growers ready for a visit can reach out to set up a call or a Teams meeting. Schedules are filling fast as more areas ask for dates.

The SS400+ Road Show continued into Michigan, where weather forced a rain delay at The Andersons Corn Plant. Even with the pause, the team made good use of the time with a shop session walk-around hosted by Hutson Inc. and attended by partners from Nutrien (Linwood and Breckenridge), The Andersons (Oakley), and Helena (Auburn).

Strong First Impressions

Everyone who took part in the shop session left impressed with the SS400+. The discussion focused on capacity, spreading consistency, and how the machine’s efficiency delivers clear return on investment. Attendees agreed the SS400+ stands apart from other spreaders in their fleets for both productivity and precision.

Engineered for Efficiency

The SS400+ Dual Bin Spinner Spreader was designed for high-acre performance and accuracy. With its 427 cubic foot hopper and 120-foot spread width, operators can cover more ground between fills while maintaining edge-to-edge accuracy. Those features stood out in Michigan as dealers and ag retailers discussed the real-world value of faster application and less downtime.

Ready for Field Action

As weather improves, the SS400+ will return to the field in Michigan to demonstrate under full operating conditions. Based on early feedback, expectations are high for its performance and efficiency across a variety of fertilizer and lime applications.

The SS400+ Road Show continues across North America, bringing dealers and producers a closer look at how precision spreading and large-capacity design come together for real results.

The Salford SS400+ Road Show continued through Michigan with a stop at Nutrien Ag Solutions in Breckenridge. Salford’s Mark Magee and Dave Gunkleman met with the Nutrien team to showcase the performance of the SS400+ and run the machine in local field conditions.

The morning started in a sugar beet field just outside Breckenridge. Despite recent rains, the crew found a few dry areas to demonstrate the spread pattern and field efficiency of the SS400+. The SS400+ was paired with a John Deere 800 series tractor, and operators were quick to note how easily the system integrated and how smooth the start-up process was.

“Being able to pop in and go is what stood out,” said one of the operators. “The integration with the Deere worked perfectly. It only took a few minutes to get comfortable with the controls.”

Bob, Operations Manager at Nutrien, also shared his perspective after observing the spreader in action. “I’ve been in this field for 34 years, and the first thing that comes to mind is how impressive the 120-foot spread pattern is,” he said. “We’re going to cover more acres in a day and do it more efficiently.”

The team wrapped up the stop with plenty of positive feedback from operators and dealers on both machine performance and usability.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest in the SS400+ for its efficiency and accuracy,” said Magee. “These tour stops let us show customers what the machine can do under real field conditions, and that’s been a strong point everywhere we go.”

The Salford SS400+ Tour continues across the region, with more stops planned in the coming weeks. Follow along as the team brings the SS400+ to producers and dealers across North America.
