Comment on 7 Senses of Hyperphantasia: Our Astonishing Multisensory Imagination Spectrum 🧠 by Adrien https://slev.life/hyperphantasia#comment-24589 Fri, 07 Nov 2025 01:39:38 +0000 https://slev.life/?p=182#comment-24589 My mother has aphantasia, we talked about it a while ago. She struggles with directions as she can’t visualise anything in her mind’s eye. Now I know why, will be sharing it with her. But I didn’t know hyperphantasia exists too.

I always felt I had a strong imagination though your friend has me beat, I’m pretty sure. From your list, visual and touch seem to be my strongest, then maybe a little from the sound list. I’m not really sure where else my experiences fall.

Ways I’ve noticed this is for one, I can’t watch horror or graphic violence. Not because of nausea or anything but because what I see doesn’t stay on the screen.

For horror, if I see something scary on screen, it’s very, very easy to accidentally imagine it in front of me. These images never become hallucinations, but it’s like my mind’s eye sees them right there. Whenever people say they don’t mind horror because they know it isn’t real, I can’t relate.

For graphic violence, I can feel the injuries on screen happening to my body. Thankfully with minimal pain but it’s a very weird sensation and can be nauseating. I get similar reactions with needles, the pain is worse when I watch it go in. If I’m with someone getting injections, I don’t move because it feels like I’d feel the needle in my own arm move if I did.

I’m also really good at imagining 3D shapes, how they look from different angles and judging how something fits into a visual space. I notice this similar to how your friend tests spices in cooking, I don’t try it out to check if it fits, I do it physically to confirm I’m right.
I don’t explain this to many people as it usually gets seen as weird. Thanks for this article, it gave me some useful words and concepts to explore.

Comment on Getting a CELTA Pass A: Example CELTA Lesson Plans & Assignments πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ« by Cassiano Wogel https://slev.life/celta-pass-a-examples#comment-24571 Wed, 05 Nov 2025 02:04:46 +0000 https://slev.life/?p=392#comment-24571 Hello Steven

I read your post before starting the CELTA, and today I received the great news: I got a Pass A! Thank you some much for sharing all this information. It was crucial for my CELTA journey. I now feel like sharing my own tips and strategies, and maybe posting something of my own (somewhere).

Oh, and just one thing: yes, you can resubmit an assignment and still get a Pass A. I had to resubmit my A2, and it was all good in the end. Only failing an assignment can really affect your final grade.

Thank you!

Does anyone have a physical copy or ebook link to “Passing for normal: Memoirs of a cult child”? It seems all references to the book online are now non existent including all links on the author’s social media are broken.

I have them printed and laminated, and using just these and a notebook I can create lots of practice sentences and paragraphs. I check back regularly to see if there are updates or more charts available. Any plans to create more Serbian language resources? Hvala vam puno!
