Given the way they timed the line about it being dangerous to fall or whatever it was he said about the mountain paths with showing the doctors body again, I think the implications are pretty clear that he was the one who also killed the doctor. He has motive as well after all. If he doesn't want anyone to find out about the secret, then he needs to kill off as many people who know about it as possible. He wasn't going to kill the kids, he seems to have some sort of sympathy for them maybe or maybe he just wants them to grow up so he can kill them when they become interesting to him and have their lights go out in front of him. He's a psycho so I won't pretend like I understand him, but it seems obvious to me that he murdered the doctor.

Loud tsundere noises the episode. Despite how… dark, for lack of a better word, Aqua is being. I don't think he's actually manipulating Arima very much. Like, he does care for her and he's just lying to himself to stay focused on revenge, in the same way that he lied to Akane to fake their relationship. Just like before, when Akane was able to give him some peace for a while, once Aqua finishes the movie and gets what he wants, he'll have nothing else to live for beyond finding happiness again and Arima will probably be there for that.

A good episode overall, though I mean, honestly Akane would be a better Ai than Ruby but whatever. Gotta have Ruby in the spotlight I suppose. I do somewhat wonder,now that Ruby has a slight inkling of what Aqua is trying to do due to Akane spilling some of the beans, if they'll reconcile at all.

Guys, hear me out. No really, if you have a dark enough sense of humour this one is actually okay.

I just finished reading the first part of the Rozen Maiden manga after recently rewatching the first two seasons of the anime and deciding I want to find out what the actual story is like.

It's very pretty. Reading through the thing I noticed that the anime strayed pretty far from the source material, with the appearance and/or temperament of some characters noticeably changing, for example Suigintou. There's also many changes big and small in the story, notably the stuff around Souseiseki and Barasuishou/Kirakishou. I think these changes had a positive impact on the anime and its popularity, but it also ended up causing the unsatisfying ending due to fucking with the plot too much. I do wonder though, did Barasuishou end up popping out because the later parts of the story hadn't been decided on by the time the anime entered production, or did they know but still decide on her to make the story more simple and straightforward, thus easier to comprehend? Also, I like the changes to the characters since it allows me to fantasize about both drowning the manga Suigintou in love and being stepped on by the anime Suigintou at the same time.

I'll start reading the second part tomorrow. I have this feeling that the ending will not be a pleasant one, but hopefully that's just me being paranoid.

It's ogre. For the worst fantasy-whatever subgenre kicked from the hero's party, it was a tame entry, with not all that much focus on the kicked from the hero party-part.

I liked that the guy genuinely got a fresh start, totally separate from the gay backstory. I liked much less that he was basically the op cheetos protagonist of any plain isegay, and the fact that he switched from a grossly incompetent team to a very competent one made no difference, since he just cheetos OP'd his way to victory either way. Some girls were cute, but the harem angle is barely worth mentioning, it was all entirely one-sided, with level-headed nice guy MC ignoring all advances. But otherwise, characters were pretty likeable. Antagonists were almost all just the generic crazy evil type, as usual for this kind of show. Eh/10.

Which honestly was weird. It explains why she is the way she is, being the part of the dragon that bestowed blessing and goodness on the world explains why she brings happiness and joy to everyone. But it doesn't really explain why the 'evil' side isn't pure evil and instead is somehow playing the doting part of mama to doux. But I guess it's just the brainwashing of goodness that happened at the start of the world. Still a little odd though but we'll put it aside because Doux is cute.

I'm glad we saw cute santa again.

Doux is very excited for the face reveal ceremony, but Jahi is reaching levels of anxious thought only possible by doting fathers.

I am changing this, though. Got a nice collection of books already, roughly following the self-learning path set by Alex Huneycutt's Internet Curriculum for the Solo Artist. Started going through Huston's Figure Drawing for Artists as my introduction to the field.

Could've been a perfectly good plant-buying episode, but it was cut short in favor of more of braids shamelessly hitting on the innocent pure-hearted MC.

I've been paying some attention to backround cars this episode. It's already weird to see a Clio 3 driving in Japan but I am not sure why fog lights are orange here. Is it a Japan only thing? That's assuming it's the studio's asset and not grabbed from somewhere else.
