INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE OLYMPIAD (ISO)

The International Science Olympiad (SOF ISO) is an annual academic competition organized by SOF for students in classes 1-12 to assess their knowledge and skills in scientific reasoning and logical ability. The curriculum of the SOF Olympiad is designed to provide young students with a platform to identify and nurture their academic talents in the field of science, preparing them for the competitive world from an early age. Olympiads, as prescribed by NEP, facilitate the development of problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and cognitive skills in students.

International Science Olympiad (ISO) Exam Pattern & Syllabus:

SOF International Science Olympiad (ISO) is a prestigious competition that challenges students to showcase their knowledge and skills in various areas of science and reasoning. The exam pattern typically consists of multiple-choice questions, and problem-solving tasks that assess a student's understanding of science and its applications. The syllabus for ISO level 1 and level 2 covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to metal & non-metals, carbon and its compounds, reproduction, Electricity, Magnetic effects, Control and coordination. Participants are required to demonstrate their ability to apply theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems and think critically about complex questions. International Science Olympiad (ISO) Eligibility Criteria Level 1:

Students from classes 1 - 12, enrolled in a school recognized by SOF are eligible for International Science Olympiad (ISO). Students from particular classes can appear for that class’s Olympiad only. Other than this there are no eligibility criteria.

International Science Olympiad (ISO) Eligibility Criteria Level 2:

Only students from classes 3-12 are eligible to take part in the level 2 exam of ISO. There is no level 2 exam for the students of classes 1 and 2. Class-wise top 5% of the participating students in the level 1 exam are selected for the level 2 exam.

How To Participate in the International Science Olympiad (ISO)

Students should apply and submit the form for the SOF International Science Olympiad (ISO) at least 30 days before the exam date.

Students cannot submit their applications individually. Applications will only be submitted via the schools.

International Science Olympiad (ISO) Exam Dates

SOF International Science Olympiad (ISO) Level-1 dates are out now. Date 1 of SOF ISO Level-1 is 30^th October 2026, Date 2 is 19^th November 2026, and Date 3 is 3^rd December 2026.

SOF has released the sample papers for the ISO 2025-26 exam. International​ Science Olympiad (ISO) Awards/ Scholarships/ Recognition:

In the upcoming academic year 2026-27, winners of the SOF International Science Olympiad (ISO) will be presented with a range of ISO awards and scholarships. These include international, zonal, and school topper awards for classes 1 to 12. The top three international rank holders will receive cash awards, medals, and certificates, while zonal and school-level winners will also be recognized. Schools and educators are also acknowledged for their contribution to students' success, with awards and scholarships at international, zonal, and district levels. Appreciation certificates and gifts are also extended to principals and teachers for their dedication and efforts.
