Need some help/tips :

We are trying to upgrade some of our components from sql server 2012 to sql server 2016.

As part of migration, would like to know is there any deprecated features in SQL 2016(discontinued in sql server 2016 that are exist in sql server 2012/2014)

if we have deprecated features, do we have any road blocks?

For , In-place up-gradation we can use Microsoft upgrade Adviser,

how to do migration if it would be Parallel up-gradation( with new servers)

Kindly help me out with these

But If I passed 461, 462, 463 in SQL 2012 and further want to appear for 464/465,
but You stated that “MCSE (464/465 and 466/467) exams are updated with SQL 2014 topics. And same will go with 2016 after release”.

To appear for MCSE DP: 464 or 465, you need to pass 461, 462 and 463, all 3 MCSA exams.

Ok, I checked with the SQL product team, and came to know that:

  • MCSA (461/462/463) exams will be having SQL 2012 content only.

  • MCSE (464/465 and 466/467) exams are updated with SQL 2014 topics. And same will go with 2016 after release.

Regarding certifications, right now the latest exams are based on “SQL Server 2012” version only. So, you can take 70-461/462/463, as per your interest and convenience.
